It seems to me that literary studies, Irish studies and the bulk
of travelling Irish Art exhibitions all share a common feature
- that of presenting one particular version of what it is to be
Irish. Whether this is to do with the troubles or the climate
in the south it silences the voices of the people who live in
the country and who live everyday cultural experience. One
area that explores the relationship between art and
community is work on street murals. Hence my interest.
So is there any info or opinion out there?
