Iran links Arab terrorists to Britain and Canada
Tehran -- Suspects blamed for terrorism in Iran's province of Khuzestan were trained
in Britain and Canada, a local judicial official charged.
"The key elements in the bombings were arabs supported by foreigners and trained in
some countries such as Britain and Canada", the Kayhan newspaper quoted Khuzestan
judiciary chief Seyed Khalil Akbar Sadat as saying.
In June, a series of blasts killed eight people and wounded 90 in Ahvaz, a
southwestern city close to the Iraqi border and capital of oil-rich Khuzestan
province. Three Arab terrorist groups claimed responsibility.
Akbar Sadat said those behind the attacks "were in touch with these countries
(Britain and Canada) via the Internet and mail".
Ahvaz was also hit by several days of unrest in April, with the Islamic regime
blaming "counter-revolutionaries" linked to Wahhabi Arab terrorists.
Iranian officials have also accused British forces based in southern Iraq of
supporting and training arab terrorists.
