Toll in Ahvaz twin bombings rises to 6
The number of people martyred in Saturday's terrorist bombings in this southwestern
city has increased to 6, a local official said here Sunday night.
Two homemade bombs placed in garbage bins detonated three minutes apart in
Khuzestan's capital, Ahvaz, on Saturday killing what was initially reported as five.
Talking to IRNA, Deputy Chancellor of Jondi Shapour University Mohammad Jahangir said
the twin bombings also left 99 people injured, 27 of whom are currently under
treatment in hospitals while the rest have been discharged.
He, moreover, said that six of the wounded were in intensive care, 2-3 of whom were
in critical condition.
The official said the funeral cermony for the six martyred in the dastardly bombing
is to be held today.
