But in the same article please see list of worst cities to live.
Tehran is in the bottom ten.
Now that is progress of the revolution.
I have been to Vancover .. It may be a godo place to live but it was
not very clean and green.
Water was grey...
I still prefer Tehran , especially my childhood area to live (pirrozi)
and the nonvae sanghaki sare koche , va labaniyati (daryani) torkeh
and sabziforsh gheronforosh as well as bache hai ke shoot ye zarbo o
gol kochick bazi mikonan o piss off the residents.;)
The problem with Vancouver is the weather, and the good thing about
Vancouver is the weather.
The water was grey because of the color of the sand.
But 10 minutes from my house you can water ski, snow ski, scuba dive,
parasail , go hiking or fishing. All within ten minutes. The schools are
great and the homes are expensive.
But the people, 30% oriental, 20% from India and another 15% immigrants from
other places.
It still is great, because here we are all Canadians and polite.
We are having the Olympics here in 3 years or so, all you guys are invited
here for a visits and stay with me. Alas you are all men.

Baghdad was number 2 on their list as the worst place to live in 2001,
now it is 54th, so daily suicide bombings, war, bloodshed, carnage do
bring excitement and therefore better rankings to a city!!!
As for Tehran, it is without a doubt one of the top 5 cities in the
Middle East. It is now a modern, clean and safe city that boasts a
huge young cosmopolitain population. Even the traffic and pollution
have hugely improved thanks to the measures taken by Dr Ahmadinejad
during his short term as mayor of Tehran.
