Dear Sir:
Let us get our facts straight: Iran is a signatory Nation to the Nuclear
Non-Proliferation Treaty. It seems evident to everyone that it has shown
no real interest in building or investing money in anything beyond
conventional forces; and certainly it is Iran's right as a sovereign and
independent country to defend it's interests and territorial integrity
by any and all means.
Secondly, why do you think that the Iranian Military
high-command are not capable to possess nuclear weaponry, if they did or
do decide to have such in the future? What makes you so knowledgeable
about the subject. And why is it that Israel which is neither a NPT
signator, nor the most "fair player" of politics is not going to use
what they say they can "acquire" as the "first" country in the Middle
East and wont be the "last" either? Doesn't that resonate a bit of
chauvanism and arrogance on the part of a territorially minor country
compared to Iran or even Syria?
Finally, if what the Iranian leadership and governments--from
the Monarchy's era to present--have indicated is not acceptable to you,
and you think they not "telling the truth" then you are the one with the
problem; it seems that this is one of the bones of the contention that
maybe many countries, including Iran, may have with certain lopsided
preconceived notions by nuclear-possessing nations like the USA, lack of
trust? When a policy is based on fear and bully tactics, don't you think
Iran would be completely irresponsible to not acquire nuclear weaponry?
I think so.
I don't see Iranian frigates and aircraft carriers 12 miles off the
coast of Texas or California??
