THANK YOU to you all for making soc.culture.indonesia an English
speaking newsgroup. Finally, finally I can understand what I read.

In the past, when members of soc.culture.indonesia post to
soc.culture.indonesia, I could not understand what they wrote.
They were writing in stone age Indonesian, a language that was used
by BABOES, illiterate Aborigines, unlike the bahasa Indonesia that is
used by schooled and educated Indonesians.

They have a chance to use good bahasa Indonesia, but they blew it,
again and again, repeatedly.

Now, we use good English. Thank you to you all. Keep up the good work
in English.

You can always find translation software to translate for you.

No, that is not true. When people are writing in stone-age Indonesian,
the language of the illiterate BABOES, there is no present software,
none, that can translate it, none whatsoever!

Now, here is a golden opportunity for you to make some money.
Since you understand the language, you may not be the only one
wanted to translate the language.

Write the translation program yourself and make a ton of money!!!!

Well, Chinese to English translation is not much better.
Often times, I had no idea what the translation was about.

I don't understand this stone-age Indonesian language. It is a mixture
of Arabese, Javanese, Sundanese, Madurese, Batakese,
Dutch-Indonesianese, Chinese, they are all mixed together, joined
together, parts of words and part of sentences all the strange words are
strung together like gado-gado or crazy salad. You have to be a nut to
understand that kind of garbage. I am going to find a sample of that
posting, and when I do find I will post for the world to see and tell me
what software will do the job?

>
> Write the translation program yourself and make a ton of money!!!!

It is a crazy language, how can I make a ton of money? Cybercop and his
twin brother Darion, a cloned brother, can understand that kind of
language, not me. They are the creator of that kind of Indonesian words.

It depends on how widely it is used.
If more than a million people use and understand the language,
someone should be able to write such a program.

What they used is gang language. There may be a million gang members,
but I am not one of them...;) Their vocabulary is unique...you have to
be in their gang to understand their language. They call it Indonesian,
a strange mixture of parts of different local dialects. They are not
even whole Indonesian words as far as I know.

Good, enough to make it worth the trouble of writing a translation
program.

You know what "infiltrate" mean? Get to know them. Learn their
language.

Good, that should make it much easier.

Infiltrate.

It's even more important to write them down for future references.

You have to be a member of their gang if you want to understand their
language. Before English invaded soc.culture.indonesia, I had lost a lot
of hair trying to understand what they are saying to each other, even
though I can speak Indonesian. A few like Konsisten, Ifadah, and a few
others wrote in proper Indonesian but they don't write daily or often.
Those who write frequently used gang vocabulary and words, and they
posted a lot in their idiotic language.

You don't understand. Do you want to learn the lingo of gang members?
Most of those gang members are either dead killed by Densus 88, or in
jail. Why would I bother infiltrating them in jail to learn their
language, why?

A unique vocabulary is not necessarily easier. People who used their
lingo are usually poor and uneducated. What do I gain from learning
their language? Have you heard some Christian pastors speak in tongue
when the holy spirit is in them? Do you find them easy to understand?
Suppose there a million pastors speaking in tongue. Do you want to learn
their language? Why would you? I am degrading myself by learning their
language. They are language of the mentally retarded..LOL

I have no idea what they are talking about because they used their gang
language. There is no software that translates Indonesian gang language,
just as there are no software that translates Chinese gang language, or
American gang language, or any other gang language. They purposely do
that write in their vocabulary so that their gang members only can
understand what they are talking about, and no one else.

That's why I am so thrilled that English invaded soc.culture.indonesia
so now even gang members are ashamed to post....using their idiotic so
called "Indonesian" language.

I want you to feel proud of yourself for being one of the first to
invade soc.culture.indonesia with civilized language, English, and not
Indonesian gang language.

Again, my congratulation to all of you.

Internet's reach ....

To myriad cultures all over the world, fundamentally changed
the above scenario - for good. Today's machine translation -
aka MT, is not perfect, but are good. And, is getting better
by the day, literally.

Today's MT's rely mainly on statistics, and, not rule-based.

They are called statistical machine translator, or SMT, And,
do not try to understand the text, like a rule-based system.
Google's revelation that building a statistical system using
various bilingual text corpora is the most efficient method.

Languages change all the time, and have myriad cultural, and
subcultural variations. Therefore the disadvantage of a rule
-based system is apparent. It involved far too much learning
and with that, far too much teaching.

Google uses world news and webpages as their corpora .... :)

No, there are other much better ways to understand their language, and
that is by having them change their language. With so many of you guys
now posting to soc.culture.indonesia in Englsh, their gang language
gradually disappears, if not all together now. Keep on posting to
soc.culture.indonesia. You are doing good service to the Indonesians.
They can learn how to argue effectively in English...;), and that is
good progress. Keep on posting tirelessly to soc.culture.indonesia in
English, for now. After a year or two, we are going to invite people in
China to post in soc.culture.indonesia in Chinese.

unfortunately its true, they are so rude and tricky/sneaky

even chinese from other part of Indonesia (Java etc)
they dont like Hokien Chinese attitude, who mostly
live in Medan (north sumatra), which we usually call them
"Cina Medan". Cina Medan would also trick their Cina Jawa
and of course the local people.

but Hokien's dishes .... wowwww deliciously yummy !
