As the month of Ramadan approaches, billions of Muslims like me
worldwide will try to renew their relationship with God during a
period of fasting, prayer and reflections.
It was in the month of Ramadan when Prophet Muhammad sought refuge in
the mountains of Mecca from oppression.
On the eve of the 23rd or 27th of Ramadan, in the cave of Hira,
Muhammad received the first Quranic revelations that consisted of five
verses, ''Read in the name of Lord who created [everything], who has
created man from a clot. Recite!
''And it is thy Lord, the most bounteous, who has taught through the
pen. He has taught man that which he knew not.'' (96:1-5).
The first revelation the Prophet received was the commandment to read,
and that the pen is glorified as the tool of civilization.
Such revelations continued for 23 years until the death of the
Prophet. The collection of these revelations is known as the Quran.
The most common names for Allah's Book are al-Qur'an (the Recital) and
al-Kitab (the Book). There are 114 chapters (suras) in the Quran of
varying lengths.
Muslims also call the Quran the ''Final Testament,'' ''Book of God''
and ''The Revelation.'' The Quran contains 6,616 verses; 77,934 words
and 323,671 letters that have remained unchanged since the end of
revelation.
The text is similar to the Jewish style of admonishing people to
reform and warning them of coming Day of Judgment.
All chapters represent material dictated to Muhammad from God through
the angel Gabriel. The Quran is thus believed to be the direct Word of
God. A number of things are emphasized in the
Quran, including strict monotheism, the duty of all believers to take
care of those less fortunate, daily prayer, purification through
fasting, and making a pilgrimage to Mecca.
The content of the Quran is reminiscent of parts of the Torah (Tawrat)
and the Old Testament (Ingel).
The Quran calls the great human exemplars of the past prophets, such
as Adam, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. Moses and Jesus are mentioned by
name more than any other person.
The Quran deals with a variety of subjects including the basic beliefs
of Islam, morality, worship, knowledge, wisdom, God-and-man
relationships, and relations among humans.
Comprehensive teachings on sound systems of social justice, politics,
economics, legislation, jurisprudence, law and international relations
are an important part of the Holy Quran.
The style and poetry of the Quran have no equal, but the Quran is not
just beautiful Arabic literature it is also a great source of wisdom.
The Quran is also a moral guide that sets forth universal ideals of
thinking and behavior for all humans, in all times and places.
It says in Quran, ''We have brought them a Book that is fully
detailed, with knowledge, guidance and mercy for the people who
believe.'' (7:52).
What do Muslims gain by reading the Quran this Ramadan? Are we
learning anything by this exercise, however sacred it may be? Has it
taught us knowledge and wisdom to guide us in doing what is right and
avoiding all that is wrong?
Unfortunately, for many Muslims, the Quran has become no more than a
sacred relic to be read without understanding. Yet on almost every
page of the Quran, the reader is invited to use reason, reflection and
understanding.
It asks: Why do you not hear? Why do you not see? Why do you not
think? Why do you not reason? Why do you not ponder? Why do you not
understand? Why do you not take what you read to heart?
To whom are these challenging invitations addressed, if not to every
hearing, seeing and thinking human being?
Today we have the same Quran as the one first revealed to Prophet
Muhammad.
The Quran tells us, ''Verily, we ourselves have sent down this
exhortation, and most surely we will be its Guardian.'' (15:10).
Millions of copies are in circulation and are recited daily by
millions and millions of Muslims.
Throughout the history, voluminous works have been written expounding
on its meaning in depth.
Words are still poured out, in a seemingly endless stream, to explain
the details of its teachings and to exhort us to live by them, yet so
many hearts remain unmoved, so many minds remain untouched, and so
many lives remain unchanged.
All over the world we find Muslims who claim that they believe in the
Quran and yet we see they are humiliated, occupied, controlled,
starved, slaughtered, tortured, their religion defamed and they are
treated with disrespect.
We are living in a time when the need to center our lives on the Quran
and its teaching. Without the
Quran in our lives, we Muslims will never be successful, nor find
meaning in our existence.
Muslims will not find dignity in this world if we do not follow the
Quran and teachings of the family of the prophet (Ahlul-Bayt).
Each time I pick up Quran to read it, I feel as if God Almighty is
talking to me, and each time I pray my daily prayers I feel I am
talking to God.
The Quran is a book revealed to people as a guide to the true path and
in this book, God commands man to adopt good morals -- love,
compassion, tolerance and mercy.
The values of the Quran hold a Muslim responsible for treating all
people, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, kindly and justly, protecting
the needy and the innocent and preventing the ''dissemination of
mischief.''
Mischief comprises all forms of anarchy and terror that remove
security, comfort and peace. As God says in a verse, ''God does not
love mischief makers." (Suratal-Qasas: 77)
Murdering a person for no reason is one of the most obvious examples
of mischief. God repeats in the Quran a command He formerly revealed
to Jews in the Old Testament: In the Quran, God presents Jews and
Christians as People of the Book, as well as explaining to Muslims in
detail what their responsibilities toward them are.
People of the Book are aware of the sacred and the profane, and base
their moral practices on divine inspiration from God.
According to the morality preached by the Quran, and the practices of
our Prophet, it is required that Muslims treat Jewish people and
Christians with love, care, tolerance and respect. The call of Muslims
to Jews and Christians is revealed: ''We believe in what has been sent
down to us and what was sent down to you. Our God and your God are one
and we submit to Him.'' (Quran, 29:46)
The lesson of this Ramadan is to recite Quran and pray daily with
contemplation. There is no good in an act of worship without
comprehension, nor in a recitation without pondering.
The Quran must be read with the heart as well as the head.

"She doesn't know yet that she has been married,'' added Jtili of the

said relatives of the girl had told a Saudi rights group of her plight
and urged it to intervene to have the marriage annulled. But the daily

saying that he had not done anything illegal.
Arranged marriages involving pre-adolescents are occasionally reported
in the Arabian Peninsula, including in the ultra-conservative Saudi

holds sway and polygamy is common.
In Yemen in April, another girl aged eight was granted a divorce after
her unemployed father forced her to marry a man of 28.
Culture and Religion can be very confusing. We get mixed up which is
Religion or which is culture of certain society.Islam approved
cultures which will not cause problem or harm to mankind and anything
that cause harm to our believe (Iman), mind, body, family, properties
and society
Why Islam ?
I believe all mankind believes in God , their inner soul agrees that
there is God or some kind of supernatural power .This world can not
come to existence by chance. Once you believe in God you must agree
that he has provided us everything we need - Air, Water , Food ,Fuel
and all sorts of energy required . So how do you disbelieve that God
has not shown us path to live in this world without any guidance ?
Islam is the Divine guidance from the beginning of creation of mankind
on this earth - Messenger from God like Abraham ,Moses , Jesus ,
Mohammed were came to renew the same old message of submitting to will
of God. That is Islam .Islam is the Call to eternal progress,
individual and communal, spiritual and social, political and
economic. It is in essence a Call to revolution. A revolution against
corruption, falsehood, greed, ignorance . A revolution against wrong
or evil behavior .
First let us look at the objectives of Islam. What is it that our
Creator and Sustainer wishes of His creatures? The purpose of
Creation?
Allah has given to mankind, and, among His Creation, only to mankind
"Free Choice". Each individual is permitted to follow his own
inclinations, his own desires - to take the Right Path, or to avoid
the Right Path.. The choice is yours. The choice cannot be made unless
one has an understanding of Islam.
As Mankind developed from the earliest times, as his observation of
Nature as a cohesive whole improved, as his leisure to think
increased, he was led to the realization that the Spirits which he had
thought were numerous, responsible for all the phenomena that effected
his existence, were in fact One. That this One Supreme Spirit whose
continuous renewing of Nature was proof of His Reality, His Eternity
and His Awesome Power. From this it followed that the Supreme Spirit
is Divine, the One Truth, the Creator and Sustainer of Nature itself.
Then it dawned upon man that the reason that the Creator had created,
was mankind itself - the only creature with intellect, the only
creature so fashioned that his only limits or boundaries are his own
imagination. Thus the living link of bond between the Supreme Spirit
and mankind was forged. A link fashioned out of a limitless Love and
Compassion.
A Love that if we are to reach the final link - that of eternal life
in His Mansions - has to be reciprocated. Because the gulf between the
Supreme Spirit and man is so vast and unimaginable this Love of the
Divinity can only be practically manifested through love of mankind
for his fellow men. As knowledge of Self, knowledge of Nature and
eventually knowledge through Revelation impacted upon him, so the
understanding grew that the Supreme Spirit had created all that He has
created for a singular purpose through an overwhelming outpouring of
Love and Understanding. A Love that has to be reciprocated through the
Bond between the Creator and each individual.
The Religion of Islam is the translation of this concept of the Bond
between Allah and each individual, into the practical every day
activity of every Muslim. This it is that Allah expects each unit of
mankind to expend his greatest efforts in demonstrating.
This is the duty of each of us. To change the world so that it is a
better place when we leave it, than it was when we entered it.
Mankind, the only creation with intelligence and abilities, has been
given the responsibility of caring, looking after, the earth and all
that is on it. Man is the Steward, the Caretaker, the Manager
appointed by Allah whose duty it is to improve, make better the earth
and all its inhabitants
If our love for our Creator is to be meaningful, our Stewardship to be
fruitful then we need to divest ourselves of all greed and selfishness
and work for the betterment - the Good of this world and the Good of
the Hereafter - of all. The Way of Muhammad (s) - the Religion of
Islam - is the translation of this conception of the Bond between
Allah and each individual, into the practical every day activity of
every Muslim who desires eternal life.
From Quran - 31:17 and 90:1 7 commands us to establish continuous
worship or service to Allah; to command the practice of all that is
Right and to eradicate all that is Evil while exhorting each other to
Compassion. The establishment, as a way of life of the active, dynamic
and meaningful worship of Allah as becomes His stewards on earth
practicing all that is right, preventing all that is Wrong, yet in a
spirit of Compassion, is the seed from which springs the Spirit of
Islam, the same Spirit with which the Prophet Muhammad (s), imbued the
hearts of his Companions. Those Companions who launched a society in
which those who dwelt therein lived full, natural lives in security ,
love , justice, beauty , and truth.
This is the aim of Islam on earth This is the objective for which we
must aim. This is the community that we must found.
Indeed, Allah has told us, in 9:33 that the Religion of Truth has been
sent so that it may prevail over all other beliefs, however much the
deniers of the Truth may be adverse.
In addition, in 22:41 Allah says that Muslims are those who, when We
give to their authority in the land, establish regular worship (i.e.
pursue spiritual development), give regular charity (i.e. pursue
economic well being), enjoin all that is right and forbid all that is
wrong (i.e. pursue moral and ethical values

Frankie: I appreciate your humanity and common sense towards being
Righteous as opposed to be Evil and oppressive and being Radical Islam
whose motto is hate,hate-speech and Jihad deeply ingrained in their
mindsets.
Saudia Arabia is well known in this world,no dispute about that--it is
an oppressive regimes and hatred towards all other Faiths, and Mecca is
there, the epitome of Islam. The practice of Islam by them is evil,as a
whole in Saudi Arabia, and it is no secret too.How many of our Mosques
here were sponsored by them?Huge,right?
It was the Christians who advocate the sacred truths about Choice, and
I am glad you Muslim learned it.So anyone who leave Islam will not be
prejudiced or hurt or be killed?I am glad that you oppose Muhammed
your prophet especially his actions and deed which were repulsive to
humanity.Marrying a 9 year old girl is wrong and evil.
Inciting riots, and telling lies are wrong. But if you have not make a
distinct line, but would rather justified evil deeds, then you bear
yourself a new name as hypocrite.
If you truly believe what you have written, without hypocrisy, you will
be drawing closer to a Holy God.
Since Muslims and Koran believe Jesus was born from Virgin Mary,a very
supernatural feat from God---then to hear what Lord Jesus has to say
is very important which will affects one's eternity--by this Fact
alone.Believing that Isa,Jesus was taken up to Heaven and coming
again--all the more one must listen to Him and especially what He had
to say or claimed to have said.
If you cannot find genuine writings and testimony people had with
Jesus nowadays--but dismiss it and them, as corrupted---what meaning
can this "prophet" be with empty accounts or teachings to back on?
To say that God has no Son,this is an insult to God and offensive to
Christians and, if it is your basic beliefs all the more, it became
even more offensive to Christians. If you believe in the immaculate
Conception of Jesus--and All Muslim must believe in it,have to believe
in it,and they already had believe in it---and if we are God's
creation--can we not all be God's son?
HOW MUCH MORE THEN JESUS WHO WAS BORN OF A VIRGIN MARY(MIRIAM)?
There are Truths so simple to understand.God never meant it hard for
all to know and understand.
When confronted with truths--the issue is--will you accept it or hate
it?
Jesus said,I am the Way--the Truth--and-- the Life.

Your premise that a God provided us everything we need - Air, Water ,
Food ,Fuel and all sorts of energy required therefore we have to
believe in God.
By your logic, since he also provided us things we don't need -
harmful viruses and bacterias, earthquakes, tsunamis, typhoons and all
sorts of harmful energy therefore this God is Evil. Correct?
They fight and kill each other in the name of God. By your statement
that God is easy to know and understand then God is violence.
> When confronted with truths--the issue is--will you accept it or hate
> it?
> Jesus said,I am the Way--the Truth--and-- the Life.
You are confused when Jesus said what he did you can even do better.
***You are smart to realized that virues..all these that the god of
this Earth has send are evils and we don't need.
You are getting close by being a Christian.
***You are smart again---there is a violent god whom we all must fight
hard and be against.
This god of this earth who had control over the weather and viruses,as
the Bible said he had,is currently not being blame for all the wicked
deeds by most people.
If you are trying to say that we, as human being, are naturally drawn
to the force of good, and at the same time we are also naturally
against the force of evil, then I think you are correct.
The question is, what does that tell us?
Do you know the cause of violence? It's jealousy. So this violent God
is the same God who is jealous, which Jesus believed in. In the end of
Jesus' life, this jealous God forsaken him and he died a horrible
death. This God is wicked, isn't he?
I'm just speaking at your level to make you understand that the God
you believe exists is just as evil. It's like head and tail of a coin.
God and Satan needs each other to exist. If you kill either one, the
fairytale ends.
***The cause of violence has many reasons, more than jealousies, but you
are quite right about it.God forsake Him cannot be considered as
wicked, but a Choice Jesus willingly took, and He laid His life in order
to save humanity from eternal Hell-fires.
Just like I did not tried hard enough nor share many secrets and
truths to you,but leave many to die and go to Hell,...that doesn't
meant I am wicked--but rather"helpless".
The intellectuals world faulted God,as to why He don't made them
Robots and Machines where He could manipulate and have full control

*** You have just said that God and Satan exists--good and evil---BUT
THEN YOU LUMP EVERYTHING AS EVIL INCLUDING GOD.YOU MUST HAVE LIVED
LONG ENOUGH UNDER SATAN RULES--INDEED THE BIBLE SAYS HE RULED ALL
HUMAN ON EARTH.
YOU JUST CANNOT SEE ANY DIFFERENCE FROM GOOD AND EVIL...AND IF GOD
NEEDS SATAN TO MAKE A SHOW--THEN GOD IS BAD TOO--AND THEN NONE IS
GOOD.
YOU DON;T KNOW ABOUT GOD NOR FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM NOR SEEN HIM,NOR HEAR
HIS VOICE---WHY ARE YOU SO QUICK TO MAKE JUDGMENT ON HIM?
IT JUST SHOWS SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG IN YOU.
****I'm just speaking at your level to make you understand that the
God

@@@ You made such observations, that God is evil, then you must surely
have known God right? It is more likely you have mistook the god of
this world as to the God of the Bible.
Proves:
You said God made those diseases. But we know it is the works of the
Devils. How then can you be ever rational?
You are getting close to being an Atheist. That's good.
God created the Devil. Will u ever be rational?
Come on, be an atheist and become rational.
Right on. "Helpless" is the word to describe the moment of death of
Jesus. He was nailed onto the cross and can't do anything. He even
asked why God has forsaken him, remember?
The intellectuals world questioned the existence of Jesus. There's no
God to be blamed in the first place. God is one of mind's creation.
***The cause of violence has many reasons, more than jealousies, but you
are quite right about it.God forsake Him cannot be considered as
wicked, but a Choice Jesus willingly took, and He laid His life in order

Eternal hell fires? It is a pure fictional garbage for scared fools like you
to believe in. Prove they exists.
Just like I did not tried hard enough nor share many secrets and
truths to you,but leave many to die and go to Hell,...that doesn't
meant I am wicked--but rather"helpless".
You are mad to believe in hell which is an imaginary place. Now freakie grow
up and think wisely. Don't believe in tommy rot.

MORON! It was the intellectuals who made this internet, not your
non-existent god. LOL
***Your level is too low.You sound like one ignorance almost
everything and anything.
***You said that God created the Devil. This information came from the
Bible.God,however is never the author of evil.
You are very confused. You can't decide whether it's God rules or Satan
rules. In this story, there is only one who rules all, correct?
YOU JUST CANNOT SEE ANY DIFFERENCE FROM GOOD AND EVIL...AND IF GOD
NEEDS SATAN TO MAKE A SHOW--THEN GOD IS BAD TOO--AND THEN NONE IS
GOOD.
That's right. If there is an almighty God who allows Satan to do evil then
God needs him. If you believe the fairytale, you have to accept that God
allowed Satan to continue to do evil since the beginning of the story.
YOU DON;T KNOW ABOUT GOD NOR FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM NOR SEEN HIM,NOR HEAR
HIS VOICE---WHY ARE YOU SO QUICK TO MAKE JUDGMENT ON HIM?
IT JUST SHOWS SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG IN YOU.
I'm commenting on the story. When you comment on a movie, do you need to
talk to the main character first? That's nothing wrong with me, just that
your thinking is very shallow.
I'm commenting on the story where God is wicked to have allowed Satan
to live on to continue doing evil. Have you mistaken this God as
omnipotent and loving? He is weak or wicked. Either he can't stop the
Devils or he needs them.
It's your blind beliefs that confused your mind. Your thinking is not
rational when your mind is confused.
LOL! You sounded helpless now. You lost the debate.
LOL. Now you agree that God needs the Devil to do the evil.
You too.
Lets hear your side of the story then. :-)
I did just yesterday. Unfortunately, it appears you don't understand.
:-)
Oh, since Arah did not respond and I was taking on Frankie so I did not
reply to your post. :-)
That's ok. It's more about knowledge instead of understanding anyway.
***Satan rules this earth.Do you understand that?
***I manage to convince many many people of your similar- type- of-
questions pose to me for umpteen years by now.
I am not helpless, just marveled at your deep ignorance.
Then it's either your God is weak or he's keeping Satan to do evil. If it's
the later then he's evil too.
BTW, who rules Hell?
>BTW, who rules Hell?
Wrong question.
The correct question should be:
How can there be Hell if this is not already Hell?
###Your God is either weak or evil to have let Satan rule this earth. How do
you convince rational thinking people like me? If there're people who are
convinced by you then you can keep the morons.
LOL

Hey Frankie, what are you trying to say? "Sound like one ignorance" Hee hee
hee hee
So?
First publication date is 1451 and up to date sold 6 billion copies. That's
over 500 years of sales and average approximately 12 million copies per
year.
The second bestselling book is "Quotations from Chairman Mao" first printed
in 1966 and sold 900,000,000 copies to date. That's only 40 years of sales.
Average approximately 22 million copies per year.
This shows that the Bible is not the best selling book, isn't it?
Hey helpless Idiot, how can you marvel at "deep ignorance"? Go back to
school.
Ha ha ha. Remove the rust from your brain, Freakie.
Locusts and other pests multiply in trillions. They are not beneficial but
are a menace to the earth. So is your argument that your bible is the best
selling book in the entire world. It only proves Karl Marx's pronouncement:
Religion is opium of the masses.
A BODOH like you can be easily convinced by snake-oil sellers. Anybody with
an agenda can claim anything and you believe them!!! LOL.
According to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_books#Claims_of_at_least_1_billion_copies ,
quotations from Mao Zedong in Chinese& 50 languages sold 800 million to 6.5
billion copies in 1966. So does it mean Chairman Mao book is a superior
writer? Fast forward to Harry Potter now.
You also have to contend with Muslims on their book Koran.

No, that's not what I'm trying to say. :-)
I'm trying to point out that all things are nature. Some are good for us and
some are not. To believe in a Creator God who loves us doesn't make sense
when he also created things that are harnful to us. Since the beliefs that
things harmful to us are evil, hence this God is evil. Without believing in
a non-existent Creator God, all things are nature.
In defence, Frankie says God is not evil but he created Satan who created
evil. Also says that Satan rules the world. Unwittingly that indicate that
his God is weak and willing to share power with Satan. Without believing in
this non-existent weak God, all things are nature.
> The question is, what does that tell us?
I disagree to your statement. In obsevation, human beings are inclined to do
vices than to do virtues. There is a Chinese saying that it takes three days
to pick up the ways of vices but three years to learn to do virtues. Buddha
says when man is not mindful, vices will rush upon him like water to the
sea. In Buddhism, there are Ten vices and Ten virtues as belonging to
mankind.

Oh, sorry to disappoint you. I'm no religious type. I'm only
interested in certain types of religious questions which have no
certain answer.
But I'm sure hell is not one of them.
:-)
Come on, everyone has a mind of their own including you. I've found the
truth in my way and you may have found it in some belief system.
Preconception idea everyone has it. It's nothing wrong with it but one must
continue to think rationally. Only then we won't lose our mind.
Preconception idea can change when met with convincing argument.
By your question, if in Buddhism it refers to our mental state. When anger
and hatred engulf us, that moment we are in Hell state.
So, which aspect of spirituality that interest you? How about rebirth? More
and more westerners are starting to accept the concept of reincarnation or
rebirth because many strong evidence are found by their doctors.
Hell is not a mental state of mind, just like heaven is not the result
of taking drugs. Don't be fooled. Hell is hell regardless what or how
we think of it. And I say today's world is a living Hell.

As far as I know, there is no way to run and there is no place to
hide.
Hell or Heaven is related to a mental state of mind. It's not a place and I
can show you how. Lets imagine there's no man on this beautiful planet. Do
you still say this is place is Hell? Hell equals suffering. Suffering is
related to the mental state of the mind.
Now, your actual words is "today's world is a living hell". That refers to
actions from the collective unwholesome mental state of mind which caused
many sufferings to mankind. Hell means suffering. Even if a place with lake
of fire which Frankie called Hell, is empty then it's not Hell at all. It's
a volcano. It's nature.

Hell or heaven is a *place* that is related to the state of human
mind. The state of human mind itself is nothing. It's called
imagination.

From this living hell of course.

Preconceived ideas often keep us from recognizing the truth.
It's no good.
