Reckoning With the Past is a major exhibition of contemporary Chinese Art
from Mainland China, Taiwan And Hong Kong. The fifteen featured artists
are united in their search for identity at a time of enormous change
within their countries. They look back to a turbulent Chinese past with
both horror and nostalgia, and look forward to an uncertain future. The
artists' own histories are powerfully reflected in works which are widely
diverse in content and style, necessarily political and yet deeply
personal.
