Minnesota House passed the same sex bill Monday 75-59. Congratulation to all gay and lesbian including our Hmong brothers and sisters. Your constitutional right has finally been awarded and honored. Best wishes.

Two sets of comments, one pertaining to the first; the other to the second. I will focus on the second only. Since if it is the first, then it takes care of itself without further silliness added to it....

#1. I hope that's just tongue in cheek joking.

#2. Because, if it was spoken with seriousness, it's one of the most stupid set of comments I've ever heard.

Why would a HOMOSEXUAL MAN come to YOU, or me, or any other man --- who, PRESUMABLY, is not homosexual but who is married to a woman, as the original comments were hypothetically made --- and "ask" the latter's wife that her husband become a "txiv" or "pojniam" to the SAID HOMOSEXUAL MAN?

There is a reason why we GET AN EDUCATION: so that we could use our brains better, fairer, and more cogently.

True, it is NOT a guarantee that just because someone had a TECHNICAL knowledge in a specialized field of WORK --- deep enough to have a MD or PhD --- that he or she is NECESSARILY broadly intelligent, logical, fair-minded, or tolerant.

But it is also equally true that, broadly speaking --- that on AVERAGE --- we DO EXPECT the more or better educated to THINK and think more soundly before they say things.

So, again, if the comments were spoken in jest, then I do stand corrected in these harsh words; otherwise, let my observations stand: the Hmong have always been a MINORITY and we have always been given the shorter end of the stick, have always received, from our view, unfair judgment and/or treatment.

We shouldn't, then, turn around and treat other minorities --- whether it pertains to sexual orientation, race, or religious beliefs --- like how other majorities have treated us throughout history.

Alas, the "niamyau" issue (joking or not)... it's a bit too primitive for me to comment on... so these few words should suffice...
