According to Turkish press reports, PKK militants blew up a minibus with
rockets, killing 17 and wounding 9 near Çukurca's Çığlı village. The vehicle
bearing 65 EY 952 licence plate was going from Çığlı to Köprülü village when
it was ambushed by a large group of PKK terrorists who were positioned at the
two slopes of the valley. The minibus was caught in the crossfire of the
terrorists who attacked the vehicle with rockets.
The assault took place at 10 a.m. on 8 November in the locality called
Taşkıran near Ormanlı village.
Apart from Abdullah Yiğit, the driver, there were 25 people in the minibus. A
rocket hit the minibus and caused the vehicle to tumble down the cliff. The
terrorists then opened fire on the minibus with long range rifles. The
following people were killed on the spot:

Musa Ediş
Halil Demirel
Emin Demirel
Agit Ölmez
Hacı Ölmez
Maas Ölmez
Mehmet Güler
Haşim Ecer
a two-year-old baby of the Ecer family
The terrorists also opened fire on a UH-1 helicopter which came to rescue
those who were wounded. The helicopter was unable to land owing to the
automatic gunfire of the terrorists and the transportation of the wounded
people was delayed because of this. The terrorists also clashed with the
security forces that were sent to the area after the attack.

a three-year-old baby named Hayrettin Duman
died at the Hakkari State Hospital where they had been taken after the PKK
attack. 11 people, including the driver of the minibus, Abdullah Yiğit, were
taken to the state hospitals of Hakkari and Van.
It was found out that the passengers were going to visit their relatives in
Köprülü village when the PKK attack took place. Those who lost their lives in
the attack were buried in the village of Çığlı.
16/12/1997 MARDİN / 12 civilians killed and 12 wounded when a minibus hit a
mine in Dargeçit

12 people were killed and another 12 were injured when a minibus bearing the
licence plate of 47 M 3059 hit a mine placed by PKK terrorists near Temelli
village of Dargeçit, Mardin on 15 December 1997. It was reported in the
Turkish press that the terrorists had used a powerful "anti-tank" mine which
was exploded with remote control.
The minibus was commuting from Temelli village to the town of Dargeçit some
five kilometers from the village when it hit the hand-made mine just outside
the village around 08:15. With the explosion the vehicle blew up and was torn
to pieces. Among the 12 people killed as a consequence of the explosion was a
two-year-old infant and a woman. The names of the victims are as follows:

The 12 injured passengers were taken to the hospitals in Midyat, Mardin and
Diyarbakır. All were in critical condition.
President Demirel issued a message of condolences for those who tragically
lost their lives in the terror act.
14/07/1998 SİVAS / 4 civilians killed in Divriği, Sivas

PKK terrorists killed 4 civilians in Divriği, Sivas. According to the press
reports, a group of terrorists raided Hamuçimen hamlet near Çayözü village
around 22:00 on 13 July 1998 and took Zeki Boztepe, Recep Türkmen, Sinan
Türkmen and Feriha Türkmen to the center of the hamlet and made PKK propaganda
before shooting them to death. The terrorist also set fire to some of the
houses in the hamlet. Of the 4 people killed, one was a woman.
Security forces started an operation in the area to capture the culprits of
the attack.
