FUROR AS LEWIS BASHES WOMEN

THE BIG MOUTH Jerry Lewis is coming off as a
really Sad Sack - again - after slamming female
comics.
The 87-year old showbiz legend was recently
asked who are his favorite women comics.
He shot back, "I don't have any."
Despite the work of Melissa McCarthy,
Tina Fey and other funny femmes, Lewis is
against gals performing comedy: "I can't
see women doing that. It bothers me.
I cannot sit and watch a lady diminish her
qualities to the lowest common demonimator."
Lewis' view is drawing the wrath that
women fromThe Nutty Professor star's
generation - including Lucille Ball, Gracie Allen,
Carol Burnett, Joan Rivers, Phyllis Diller and
Betty White - have been hailed as comic
geniuses.
Another wonders if Lewis is "jealous" because
"he had to compete with women. Betty White
is far more relevant now than Jerry Lewis."
Dean Martin's former sidekick first ignited a
firestorem of outrage back in 1998 when he
famously revealed watching females do comedy
"sets me back a bit."
In response, 30 Rock star Fey reveals, "Whenever
someone says to me, 'Jerry Lewis says women
aren't funny,' my reply is: 'We don't @!#$&*%
care if he likes it.'"
