DESCRIPTION OF REPORTED CRIME: Mass killing.
TIME AND LOCATION: April 25th, 1993, the village of Miletici,
Novi Travnik district.
SUMMARY OF REPORTED CRIME: B-H Army soldiers massacred five Croat
civilians in the village of Miletici, on April 25th, 1993.
According to a witness, about 50 B-H soldiers arrived in the
village of Miletic: "They were mujahadins joined by local
Muslims. They forced Croats to gather in front of Sreco
Pavlovic's cowshed. Out of 40 Croats who came, only five were fit
for army service. They tied us with a rope, and those five who
were fit for army service were taken aside. The remaining 35
Croat civilians (women, children, elderly men) were taken to the
village of Mehurici. They locked us up in the so-called Savic's
house where we spent two days and two nights. After that they
allowed us to return to our village, where we saw the bodies of
the five men who were separated from us. The killed were as
follows:

The dead bodies were lying face down. I saw rope marks on Frane

Army soldiers killed four civilians and destroyed yet
undetermined number of Croat owned family houses and farm-
buildings.
The killed were as follows:
1. Andja Kostic (born 1923) - bed-ridden for the last eight
years, shot in the mouth inside of her house;

from a machine gun;

002 B-H - KONJIC - August 30th, 1993
DESCRIPTION OF REPORTED CRIME: Psychophysical maltreatment;
infliction of bodily harm; killing of civilians.
TIME AND LOCATION: August 30th - September 4th, 1993; the village
of Orahovica (cca 5 kilometres northwest of Konjic).
SUMMARY OF REPORTED CRIME: The position of Croat villagers in
Orahovica (controlled by B-H Army since April 1993) rapidly
deteriorated after arriving of B-H Army special squad, by the end
of August 1993. Members of the squad wore the sign "DIB"
("demolition-monitoring brigade") on their caps and the sign
"Military Police" on the sleeves of their uniforms. They were
better equipped and armed than other B-H Army soldiers stationed
in the Konjic district, and they claimed that they were members
of the special squad from Zenica. Upon their arrival from an
unsuccessful action, they maltreated Croat villagers of
Orahovica. They barged into Croat owned family houses, looted and
destroyed their property, and battered Croat civilians. This
maltreatment continued in the period between August 30th and
September 4th, 1993, four civilians were killed as the
consequence of several days' psychophysical maltreatment, two
civilians (elderly women) were physically maltreated, fired on
and wounded, while five other civilians were seriously wounded as
the consequence of being beaten.
The killed were as follows:
1. Jozo Ruzic (born 1928);
2. Stanko Ruzic (born 1932);

003 B-H - MOSTAR - September 3rd, 1993
DESCRIPTION OF REPORTED CRIME: Armed attack on civilians;
wounding and/or killing of civilians.
TIME AND LOCATION: September 3rd, 1993; 2:00 p. m.; Mostar.
SUMMARY OF REPORTED CRIME: On September 4th, 1993, B-H Army
soldiers stationed on the left bank of the Neretva river (B-H
Army controlled section of Mostar) launched a heavy artillery and
mortar attack on the sections of Mostar that are not under B-H
Army control. The civilian targets in the districts Djikovina and
Panjevina, that is in the Hacamovih and Pavle Miletica streets
came under attack. Victims of this attack were Muslim and Croat
civilian residents in these sections. Five civilians were killed
(two Muslims), 20 seriously wounded and hospitalized (8 Muslims),
while three civilians were lightly wounded, but were not
hospitalized. The large number of victims may be explained by the
fact that the attack was launched suddenly and during the cease-
fire period.
The killed were as follows:
1. Mensur Cican (born 1964);
2. Stanko Cvitkovic (born 1940);
3. Lejla Hujdur (born 1980);
4. Kata Pehar (born 1928);
5. Vencel Vidacak (63 years old).
Seven HVO soldiers (residents of the above mentioned streets),
who were on leave and at home during the attack, were also
wounded. All of them were hospitalized.

her, B-H Army snipers shot him in the belly, and killed her.

002 B-H - BUGOJNO - July 18th, 1993
DESCRIPTION OF REPORTED CRIME: Killing of civilians.
TIME AND LOCATION: July 18th, 1993, 9:00 p. m., the village of
Vucipolje, Kaici hamlet (cca 3 kilometres east of Bugojno).
SUMMARY OF REPORTED CRIME: B-H Army soldiers launched an attack
on the villagers of Kaici hamlet (the village of Vucipolje) on
July 18th, 1993, around 9:00 p. m. The civilians (women, children
and elderly people) hid in Marko Zivko's basement. The civilians
knew that their situation was grave, and they tried to save their
lives by leaving Kaici. Ivica Zivko (52 years old) went out of
the basement but was immediately shot by two bullets. B-H Army
soldiers dragged the wounded Ivica back to the basement where
women dressed his wounds and tried to stop them from bleeding.
That same evening, Frano Zivko was killed while he was trying to
leave the neighbouring basement. On the following day (July 19th,
1993), B-H Army soldiers allegedly took the wounded Ivica Zivko
to hospital. During the entire night July 18th/19th, 1993, a
guard stood in front of the entrance to the basement and he did
not let the civilians out even when in need of going to the
bathroom. On July 19th, 1993, around 8:30 a. m., all civilians
were threatened with fire arms and forced out of the basement.
They were accommodated in D. K.'s house. That same day, a B-H
Army soldier came to the house, cursed the civilians and fired a
machine gun barrage inside of the room where they were held,
forcing them to throw themselves on the ground in order to avoid
bullets. No one was hurt, but the shock was tremendous: the
children shouted, women and elderly people cried. In the
afternoon hours (July 19th, 1993) another B-H Army soldier came
into the room and ordered D. K. to go to the front-line and get
three wounded B-H Army soldiers out of there, otherwise they were
going to slit his son's throat. His son's name was R. K. and he
was seventeen years old. After D. K. fulfilled their command, B-H
Army soldiers ordered all Croats to leave the B-H Army controlled
territory.

DESCRIPTION OF REPORTED CRIME: Desecration of bodies.
TIME AND LOCATION: July 21st, 1993, the village of Kula - the
section called Rudine (cca 3 kilometres northeast of Bugojno).
SUMMARY OF REPORTED CRIME: "On Sunday, July 18th, 1993, 5:20 p.
m., a major shooting began in the town of Bugojno. I was standing
in front of my house in the village of Kula at the time. B-H Army
soldiers were stationed some 80 metres from where I was standing.
B-H Army and HVO units fought each other with short recesses
until Wednesday, July 21st, 1993..." According to the witness'
report, a lightly wounded member of HVO (D. V., born 1959)
arrived from the location called Rudine on Wednesday, July 21st,
1993. He confirmed that the following HVO soldiers were killed at
Rudine:
1. Franjo Bijader;
2. Zdravko Bozic;
3. Zeljko Dujmovic;
4. Domin Jukic.
On the following day, July 22nd, 1993, the witness and the above
mentioned HVO soldier went to the indicated place in order to
remove the bodies of HVO soldiers, transport them to the village
of Kula and bury them there in a decent manner. According to the
witness account, when they came to the spot where those four HVO
soldiers were killed, they saw the following: "... we found three
of them lying near the improvised pillbox, their bodies were
stabbed and carved with knives, one of them was beheaded, a
little farther away from those three bodies we found the body of
Franjo Bijader. He was also stabbed with knives, and it seemed as
if there was no part of his body that had not been stabbed. We
covered the bodies with branches and then we returned to the
village..."
PERPETRATORS: B-H Army soldiers.
SOURCE OF INFORMATION: A witness' written account currently kept
in the archives of the Centre.
