Regarding recent allegation made by "Falun Gong" groups in USA and
Japan, of "Sujiatun concentration camp" where "Falun Gong" practioners
are detained and their organs harvested, Sujiatun District Vice Chair
Zheng Bing told reporters, the hospital implicated in the allegation as
Liaoning Province Blood Disease Easter-Western integrated Therapy
Center (Sujiatun Stroke Hospital), is a well know hospital specializing
in blood clod treatment. Last year it received honor for exemplary
village hospital service. He welcomed reporters to the hospital, in the
hope that these unfounded rumors can be put to rest.
Sujiatun Stroke Hospital is situated near center to the district,
surrounded by many residential buildings. People and vehicles can
freely enter and exit the hospital. According to administrator Zhang
Yuqing, the hospital was built in 1998, has about 600 employees. The
hospital specializes in diagnose and treatment of blood clot, employing
10 different courses of treatment. Main focus of treatment is based on
eastern medicine, with western medicne as supplemental treatment.
This hospital is licensed by National Eastern Medicine Bureau as a
blood clot clinic, is well known nationally and internationally, with
technical as well as professional exchange with hospitals in Australia
and Korea. Over 30,000 patient visits a year and 7000 some patients
admitted for care.
Vice Secretary Zhang Shu told reporters, since March 18th, the hospital
have been receiving phone calls and letter, inquiring about "Sujiatun
concentration camp". Many are malicious harassments; most of the
hospital's daily operation is severely affected by this.
Zhang Shu says, the hospital mostly handles blood clot treatment,
sometimes perform simple procedures, but it has never performed organ
transplantation procedures, since it is neither equipped nor does it
have qualified surgeon. In actuality the hospital's boiler is part of
the heating system; rumor mentions secret underground facility is also
non-existent; the hospital's only underground structure is a septic
tank.
While at the hospital, reporters took the opportunity to interview few
patients. When asked about "Sujiatun concentration camp", one patient
expressed amazement, and stated he believes this is a hospital that
saves people, and finds its service trust worthy. He says he's illness
is now under control and he should recover and leave the hospital soon.
