From BBCWorld twitter:
#0447: Timothy Katungi in the UK writes: "Has the West considered the
demographics of Libya? Is any of the leaders in the West aware of the
tribal divisions in Libya? Western democracy can not work in Libya,
the events unfolding in Libya will only succeed if at all by dividing
the Libya into tribal settings, for Libya to stay as one country, it
has to be led by a dictator. The west is once again displaying its
double standards by ignoring events happening in other Arab States
because they are poor and concentrating on Libya because of its
wealth." Have Your Say
According to a BBC reporter, now Libya is feeling the siege mentality
that they're alone against a world which is bent on destroying their
country. And as a result, Qaddafi's regime is "strengthened" by the
external threat.
Remember the slogan about the no-fly zone and the UN resolution 1973
is to keep Qaddafi's forces from closing in Benghazi? But despite the
Qaddafi regime's initial compliance, the West's action today is
entirely inconsistent with that goal. Instead, the huge bombing
campaign today is clearly intended to intimidate the regime and force
it to go quickly.
But that's sheer idiocy. Qaddafi has his supporters. Especially
because of the tribal nature of the nation which Katungi of the UK
mentioned aboved. (I have also mentioned the same thing maybe a week
ago.) And BBC news footage is showing a lot of defiant Qaddafi
supporters who are willing to "die with their leader".
So the West has sold a narrative to the public which is largely
misleading if not a bunch of outright lies. And it seems that they
are too smug to be even careful about their action. They talked
belligerently about their aim of getting rid of Qaddafi.
Since it came out of David Cameron's mouth, Qaddafi clearly doesn't
have a choice but to take it seriously when he saw that the hundred
plus cruise missiles lobbed into Libya today in a matter of hours in
contradiction of the official, stated UN objective. He knows that
they are really coming after him.
Now would that make him go quietly?
Of course not.
Because the rhetoric from the UK and the US governments has uniformly
been one in which they wanted him to step down and at the same time
put him on trial for a variety of things. Now, that means that
Qaddafi won't survive personally. He knows that if he surrenders like
Milosevic of Serbia and Saddam Hussein of Iraq, he will meet their
fate, which only ends with death. Why would he want to step aside
just so our spendthrift leaders can put him behind bars?
This is not what the West has accorded other dictators in the region.
They have let the other dictators go or even stay and look away as the
protesters in Bahrain for example were killed and their liberation
movement crushed.
That's just too much of a double standard.
Anybody who's in Qaddafi's position knows that maybe his time has
come. But if he is anything but a wimp, he will try to rally his
supporters to fight to the death.
Maybe Obama and Hillary Clinton believe that the Libyan people will
abandon Qaddafi.
And I have read the same from the rebel side in Benghazi.
But they are gambling.
I don't know if Qaddafi's supporters will so easily abandon him. The
West may not like Qaddafi, but I doubt that he could have survived 4
decades of rule without having some strong followers. (This was the
same with Saddam too. The Sunnis became Iraq's insurgents during the
Bush era occupation and we had to use white phosphor and a lot DU
munitions to kill them off as our troops destroyed Fallujah. And the
invasion of Iraq, instead of being a cake walk, has lasted for the 8
full years---and may last until we are too broke to pay for it.)
It thus make you wonder if Obama and Hillary Clinton really are
playing with a full deck when they start wading us into another war.
It is as if by saying that we won't have ground troops in Libya and
that it is an effort led by somebody else other than the US itself,
they could extract us out of any responsibility tomorrow.
(Recall that on 19 March 2003, the US invaded Iraq. And that was
exactly the same day of the month as today.)
Right now, it looks to be a mess for Libya. I think that Cameron is
too smug for his own good. He forgets that the narrative about
getting rid of a ruler of a sovereign state can be applied to the UK
too where the Queen surely has been a monarch for longer than Qaddafi.
Have not the British people ever complained about their rulers?
Of course, they have. Just maybe less than six months ago, young
people in London and elsewhere were holding huge demonstrations
against their government. And Prince Charles and his companion were
even greeted with angry protesters who chanted: Off with their heads
for the princes and dukes. How smug and how blind is Cameron when he
forgets that he was going to China and begging for more contracts from
the Chinese who are awash with USD to buy Rolls Royces and Scotch
liquor. And because of the begging nature of Cameron's trip, he did
not dare to raise the Tibetan issue with the CCP! So, it shows that
Cameron is a fool who is ill-serving the UK. He is squandering the
depleting UK treasury to finance this expensive attack on Libya.
I only wish our leaders in Washington weren't also so anxious to
waste every dime we have on every worthless war they ever hear about.
Has anybody thought about how pointless it is to just explode away a
million dollar product in a matter of a few seconds?
The say that the UK can't afford to educate its young people but they
are spending tens of millions a day to "help save Libyan lives" when
in fact they are killing them!
David Cameron and his conservative government does not look like they
will survive for long. He might actually be also accelerating the
demise of the British monarchy.

Well, this is what I see to be a perfect example of a spam-robot (or
spambot for short) the sock puppet software the US military and the
CIA have deployed, according to the UK Guardian, with the purpose of
spamming the net in order to degrade the content and meaningfulness of
internet discussions, such as criticisms of US foreign policies.
In this case, the reader will find that someone has blindly picked out
a clause from a piece of writing, confused it as a sentence, and then
started to ask questions about it. What a dolt or dolt-bot!
So there is no need to answer the dumb questions posed. But we can

The interesting things to me are the following points.
1) The recent claims by Terpstra et al that China has mobilized
hundreds of thousands of its own people to spread CCP propaganda may
just be a line they (those who employ Terpstra et al for the so-called
democracy-rising propaganda activities) have decided to use to justify
the massive deployment of their "sock puppet" robots to choke the flow
of meaningful discussions in social media and degrade any dissent to
narratives they produce.
2) The other side of the coin is of course if the US propaganda
machine can do this, why can't China? Eventually, they just
neutralize each other.
3) These types of tricks aren't rocket science. They are actually
pretty dumb stuff. Terpstra's posts and his incoherent follow-ups are
convincing evidence that the posters don't put any thought into them.
And then there are those who aren't regular posters but are
supervising behind the scene, who would periodically come out and sing
the "let's hear it for the boy . . ." songs.
4) But then such unethical activities can't help the credibility of
those so-called democracy-rising things. And that's because the
reason the Pentagon, the US State Department, and the CIA and the
funded agencies are all doing it is because they all believe that the
population anywhere in the world is pretty dumb and their knowledge
about the society they live in can be manipulated. And that's the
reason why they fabricated the stories that Saddam's soldiers who went
into Kuwait in 1990 snatched babies from the hospitals and that Saddam
had weapons of mass destruction and all kinds of lies about any ruler
whose country they want to invade or neutralize.
5) Now western propaganda apparatus is in a frenzy filling the
airwaves with Qaddafi's alleged sins when they want to, in Cameron's
words, "get rid of him". But they chose to keep those accusations
under wraps when they were still in negotiation with him to make him
cough up the billions they coveted.
6) All in all, it shows that governments everywhere are untrustworthy
and some of them are even outright unethical and immoral.

Revealed: US spy operation that manipulates social media

Military's 'sock puppet' software creates fake online identities to
spread pro-American propaganda

operations are aimed at 'countering extremist ideology and
propaganda'. Photograph: Cliff Owen/AP

The US military is developing software that will let it secretly
manipulate social media sites by using fake online personas to
influence internet conversations and spread pro-American propaganda.
A Californian corporation has been awarded a contract with United
States Central Command (Centcom), which oversees US armed operations
in the Middle East and Central Asia, to develop what is described as
an "online persona management service" that will allow one US
serviceman or woman to control up to 10 separate identities based all
over the world.
The project has been likened by web experts to China's attempts to
control and restrict free speech on the internet. Critics are likely
to complain that it will allow the US military to create a false
consensus in online conversations, crowd out unwelcome opinions and
smother commentaries or reports that do not correspond with its own
objectives.
The discovery that the US military is developing false online
personalities
The Centcom contract stipulates that each fake online persona must
have a convincing background, history and supporting details, and that
up to 50 US-based controllers should be able to operate false
identities from their workstations "without fear of being discovered
by sophisticated adversaries".
Centcom spokesman Commander Bill Speaks said: "The technology supports
classified blogging activities on foreign-language websites to enable
Centcom to counter violent extremist and enemy propaganda outside the
US."
He said none of the interventions would be in English, as it would be
unlawful to "address US audiences" with such technology, and any
English-language use of social media by Centcom was always clearly
attributed. The languages in which the interventions are conducted
include Arabic, Farsi, Urdu and Pashto.
Centcom said it was not targeting any US-based web sites, in English
or any other language, and specifically said it was not targeting
Facebook or Twitter.
Once developed, the software could allow US service personnel, working
around the clock in one location, to respond to emerging online
conversations with any number of co-ordinated messages, blogposts,
chatroom posts and other interventions. Details of the contract
suggest this location would be MacDill air force base near Tampa,
Florida, home of US Special Operations Command.
Centcom's contract requires for each controller the provision of one
"virtual private server" located in the United States and others
appearing to be outside the US to give the impression the fake
personas are real people located in different parts of the world.
It also calls for "traffic mixing", blending the persona controllers'
internet usage with the usage of people outside Centcom in a manner
that must offer "excellent cover and powerful deniability".
The multiple persona contract is thought to have been awarded as part
of a programme called Operation Earnest Voice (OEV), which was first
developed in Iraq as a psychological warfare weapon against the online
presence of al-Qaida supporters and others ranged against coalition
forces. Since then, OEV is reported to have expanded into a $200m
programme and is thought to have been used against jihadists across
Pakistan, Afghanistan and the Middle East.
OEV is seen by senior US commanders as a vital counter-terrorism and
counter-radicalisation programme. In evidence to the US Senate's armed
services committee last year, General David Petraeus, then commander
of Centcom, described the operation as an effort to "counter extremist
ideology and propaganda and to ensure that credible voices in the
region are heard". He said the US military's objective was to be
"first with the truth".
This month Petraeus's successor, General James Mattis, told the same
committee that OEV "supports all activities associated with degrading
the enemy narrative, including web engagement and web-based product
distribution capabilities".
Centcom confirmed that the $2.76m contract was awarded to Ntrepid, a
newly formed corporation registered in Los Angeles. It would not
disclose whether the multiple persona project is already in operation
or discuss any related contracts.
Nobody was available for comment at Ntrepid.
In his evidence to the Senate committee, Gen Mattis said: "OEV seeks
to disrupt recruitment and training of suicide bombers; deny safe
havens for our adversaries; and counter extremist ideology and
propaganda." He added that Centcom was working with "our coalition
partners" to develop new techniques and tactics the US could use "to
counter the adversary in the cyber domain".
According to a report by the inspector general of the US defence
department in Iraq, OEV was managed by the multinational forces rather
than Centcom.
Asked whether any UK military personnel had been involved in OEV,
Britain's Ministry of Defence said it could find "no evidence". The
MoD refused to say whether it had been involved in the development of
persona management programmes, saying: "We don't comment on cyber
capability."
OEV was discussed last year at a gathering of electronic warfare
specialists in Washington DC, where a senior Centcom officer told
delegates that its purpose was to "communicate critical messages and
to counter the propaganda of our adversaries".
Persona management by the US military would face legal challenges if
it were turned against citizens of the US, where a number of people
engaged in sock puppetry have faced prosecution.
Last year a New York lawyer who impersonated a scholar was sentenced
to jail after being convicted of "criminal impersonation" and identity
theft.
It is unclear whether a persona management programme would contravene
UK law. Legal experts say it could fall foul of the Forgery and
Counterfeiting Act 1981, which states that "a person is guilty of
forgery if he makes a false instrument, with the intention that he or
another shall use it to induce somebody to accept it as genuine, and
by reason of so accepting it to do or not to do some act to his own or
any other person's prejudice". However, this would apply only if a
website or social network could be shown to have suffered "prejudice"
as a result.
This article was amended on 18 March 2011 to remove references to
Facebook and Twitter, introduced during the editing process, and to
add a comment from Centcom, received after publication, that it is not
targeting those sites.

Dear Friend,
"A DREAM DEFERRED IS A DREAM DENIED"
LANGSTON HUGHES
Before the news that the US□toadies in the UN□had sanctioned another
act of war--this time against Libya, I□chatted with former
Congresswoman from Georgia and 2008 Green Party Presidential
Candidate, Cynthia McKinney, we talked about how things would be
different if she were President right now.
I□supported Cynthia's run for president because I□long ago decided to
stand firm on my core values--and my core values of PEACE as the
UNCOMPROMISING imperative and human rights over profit, conformed
identically to Cynthia's platform with the Green Party.
One of the problems with this society is that when the opposite
political party of our own is in power, the world looks black and
white. For example, when George Bush was president, the same people
who attacked me for being against "humanitarian" usage of US□Tomahawk
missiles in Libya, would right now be screaming all holy-hell bloody
murder if Bush did the same thing. Now, strangely, I have also been
attacked by Republicans (who would have been orgasmic over another
bombing if Bush was still in office) for "supporting" Obama's wars,
which I□never have and I□never will.
So, being a person who sees clearly that bombing a people to save them
is NEVER the RIGHT THING to do, no matter who's president, and not
caring who attacks me, or calls me names, or unsubscribes from this
email list, there are so many other things we could have done, besides
bombing the nation of another former "friend" to accomplish peace.
Seriously, if you are one of the people who are so in favor of using
violence to solve problems, it would be better if you formed a
battallion of revolutionaries and went to Libya to help the people
fighting against the regime. Then you would truly see what truly
happens when the US□decides it wants your "sweet" crude oil.
So, on the day the US□invaded another country for oil exactly eight
years ago--when thousands were marching and dozens being arrested all
over the nations--Obama launches another immoral attack. I really
couldn't care less that the UN□gave the greenlight in apparent
establishment legitimacy--the establishment always legitimizes itself
with awards and hearty approval for its crimes.
Please listen to the show today, it goes "live" at the website at 2pm

(III) Anti-war demonstrations at the WH, NY, SF, and other places

Ellsberg, 100 Anti-War Demonstrators Arrested at White House
By Eric Tucker, Associated Press
20 March 11
ore than 100 anti-war protesters, including the man who leaked the
Pentagon Papers, were arrested outside the White House in
demonstrations marking the eighth anniversary of the US-led war in
Iraq.
The protesters, some shouting anti-war slogans and singing "We Shall
Not Be Moved," were arrested Saturday after ignoring orders to move
away from the gates of the White House. The demonstrators cheered
loudly as Daniel Ellsberg, the former military analyst who in 1971
leaked the Pentagon's secret history of the Vietnam War that was later
published in major newspapers, was arrested and led away by police.
In New York City, about 80 protesters gathered near the US military
recruiting center in Times Square, chanting "No to war" and carrying
banners that read, "I am not paying for war" and "Butter not guns."
Similar protests marking the start of the Iraq war also were organized
Saturday in San Francisco, Chicago and other cities.
In California, hundreds of people marched in downtown San Francisco.
Hundreds more, including students from more than 40 high schools and
community colleges, marched in Los Angeles in protest of the US
presence in Iraq, organizers and police said.
Some used the rallies to draw attention to the new military action in
Libya.
"You can't stand by and watch people being slaughtered. At the same
time you don't want to foster war. It's walking a very fine line,"
Bishop Otis Charles told KCBS-TV at the San Francisco protest.
The demonstration in Washingtonmerged varied causes, including
protesters demanding a US military withdrawal from Iraq and
Afghanistan as well as those supporting Bradley Manning, the jailed
Army private suspected of giving classified documents to the website
WikiLeaks.
One chant that was repeated was: "Stop the War! Expose the Lies! Free
Bradley Manning!"
Manning is being held in solitary confinement for all but an hour
every day at a Marine Corps brig in Quantico, Virginia. He is given a
suicide-proof smock to wear to bed and is stripped naked each night.
On Sunday, a protest will be held in Quantico, outside the brig where
Manning is being held.
Ellsberg has publicly defended Manning, calling him a "brother," and
WikiLeaks.
Hundreds of protesters attended the rally and marched around the White
House, but the crowd - which included many military veterans - thinned
considerably as the US Park Police warned that they'd be arrested if
they didn't move. As officers moved in with handcuffs, one protester
who clutched the gates outside the White House shouted, "Don't arrest
them! Arrest Obama!" and "You're arresting veterans, not war
criminals!"
Authorities said 113 protesters were arrested, processed and given
violation notices for disobeying an official order. They could pay a
small fine and be released, or be freed with a future court date.
"The majority were cooperative," said US Park Police spokesman David
Schlosser.
One military veteran who showed up for the rally was Paul Markin, a
64-year-old retired US Army colonel from Lynn, Mass., who said he's
frustrated by what he sees as the US government's escalation of the
wars. He said he's been against wars since coming home from Vietnam.
"Ever since that time, I've gone to the other side. Instead of a
warrior, an anti-warrior," Markin said.
Ralph Nader, a consumer advocate who's unsuccessfully run several
times for president, attended the demonstration and said anti-war
protesters needed to continue putting pressure on government leaders.
He said he believed most Americans and even soldiers agreed with the
views of the protesters.
"I believe they reflect the majority opinion of the soldiers in
Afghanistan," Nader told The Associated Press. "This is a majority
opinion movement."
There was little talk at the DC protest of the US missile strikes
against Moammar Gadhafi's forces in Libya on Saturday, part of an
international effort to protect rebel forces.
But the Times Square demonstration that was meant to mark the eighth
anniversary of the Iraq invasion quickly became a protest against
Saturday's military strikes.
Gary Maveal, 57, a law professor from Detroit who was visiting the
city for a conference, said he feared the Libyan attacks would become
a "quagmire."
"We don't have a good record of getting out of anywhere in a hurry,"
he said.
US Rep. Charles Rangel, D-NY, joined the protesters, saying he was
angry that Congress was not consulted before the military strikes. He
said he was undecided on whether the military action against Libya was
justified.
"Our presidents seem to believe that all we have to do is go to the UN
and we go to war," Rangel said as a large television behind him at the
recruiting station showed an advertisement for the Air Force with
crews loading missiles onto fighter jets.
"Going to war is not a decision that presidents should make," he added.
Associated Press reporter Chris Hawley in New York City contributed to
this story.

controls Tibet the same as the British controlled India many years
ago, and the French controlled Indochina. If you are not happy with
the current situation, you, too, can take up arms and start a
revolution in Tibet to take Tibet back. Mao Zedong did it in China.
Fidel Castro did it in Cuba. Now is your chance to be a BIG man. Go

that, then shut the damn mouth up and let the world turns as it always

Treason against Tibet? Let the people of Tibet decide. You would
lose,AntiDabienchenVirus.
Tibet would vote for the Dalai Lama to return to his native land.
You don't get it, do you? Tibet is not a nation, but is part of China.
Calling for secession is treason, but the Dalai is doing it with the
full support of the CIA and the NED, so he should be arrested and shot.
The Middle East is Arab.
NOT Jewish Or Christian.
Zionism is paranoia and intolerance towards the majority culture of
Middle east at the expense of the USA.
Only Christians can enforce peace between Muslims and Jews in the Arab
Middle East.
The Russians had the Communists.
The Europeans had the Naziis.
The USA has the Zionists.
Tibet poses no threat to the peace of the world.
Abraham Foxman said on PBS television the Sikh Community suffer from
bigotry.
Mrs. Indira Gandhi's two Sikh bodyguards took the life of the woman
they were suppose to protect.
Mr. Foxman of the ADL says it is awful how the Sikh Community have to
suffer being labelded "ragheads". It's their religion.
Since Tibet poses no threat to other people and cultures they are not
important to the ADL,
while Communist China refuses to respect an ancient people's heritage.
China will always be China. China does not lose anything. China is
like a sponge.
> Americans of my generation were sent to Vietnam to stop the spread of

Yeah!! That was John Foster Dulles's domino theory. It didn't happen
as he thought. Instead, it was a war of nationalism, not communism.
> Ho Chi Minh wanted to unite his country.
> Anyway, including democracy.
> We fought an ideology in Vietnam: Communism
No, we didn't fight a war of ideology in Vietnam. It was a war of
white friend helping another white friend holding on to colonialism.
> Now again we are fighting an ideology: Terrorism.
You know what the old saying on this subject is. It is:
"One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter".
> Israel is the source of terrorism, by using the USA to condemn Muslims
> in the Middle East.
Our foreign policies in the Middle East are all for Israel and against
the Muslims. You know they are hopeless have no future and limited by
Western foreign policies.
> The Middle East is Arab.
> NOT Jewish.
Good foresight, but our foreign policies don't see it that way.
They are NOT religious. They missed their special privileges as lamas
and the common Tibetan slaves doing all their works for them.
> Tibet is not Communist.
Worse, they are owners of slaves of the common Tibetans.
> Tibet is not a threat to China.
Who's talking about threat? How can a 17th or 18th century country
like Tibet be a threat to anyone but themselves.
> Communists think they are socialists.
> There is a power greater than Communism.
> Chinese people are not all Communist, but they are all Chinese.
Preaching like any other Westerners to the Chinese? The problem is;
They know more than you.
Why don't you study Chinese history so you know what you are talking
about. You're showing your ignorance of China by your posts.
> Americans of my generation were sent to Vietnam to stop the spread of

No, It was John Foster Dulles's hatred of China for America's attitude
toward China. This same attitude continues even today.
> Ho Chi Minh wanted to unite his country.
> Anyway he could, including democracy.
> We fought an ideology in Vietnam: Communism
No, we fought a war to help France to retain its foreign colonies of
French Indochina. After France gave up on it, we still tried to
divide them apart like Korea.
> Now again we are fighting an ideology: Terrorism.
We called it terrorism, the Muslims call it freedom fighters. The
victims Saddam Hussein are called "victims of a mass murderer" while
the people we killed are called "terrorists". The only difference is
terminology. They are all people who are opposed to the rulers of the
country.

Don't put all the blames on Israel. Our foreign policies in the
Middle East are a complete failure and the cause of the problems.

our shares of over-estimation already.

Modernization is inherently a huge change to culture. We can not
maintain old cultures throughout the world. Otherwise, we still be
living in the stone age.

Tibetans rose to GREAT POWER after the collapse

Tibetans under the MONGOLS acquired great Mongol military

Wrong, rst9, about living in the stone age.
I just watched an inspiring video of subsistence
living people. Who make a fire by rubbing two sticks until the
Fahrenheit temperature starts a smoke and a fire. Who have no
electricity in their village. Who live a lifestyle commensurate with
surviving as they've done since God created the earth.
People as gentle an human as they have learned
something about peace and respect.
The Ten Commnadments were written in the stone
age. Jesus spoke the sermon on the mount in the stone age.
Though an African tribe live their ancient
lifestyle in Tanzania, they are surrounded by a modern world. They
have something to offer as has the modern world.
The Indian Bible the Bagatavah-Gita
was written in the stone age, and Israel which is as modern as it gets
has enough nuclear misslies to blow up the planet. Zionist-Israel is
not as civilized as a Tibetan or African villager:

There is no god, and certainly god did not create earth. Living in
the stone age is no fun. It's a very tough life.
> People as gentle an human as they have learned

Human beings were/are NOT gentle, and certainly there were/are no
peace and respect among us human beings. Since civilization begins,
human beings were thieves and killers. That was how they survived,
remember? The survival of the fittest? There certainly was no
respect among human beings, not now or not ever.
> The Ten Commnadments were written in the stone
> age.
3,200 - 3,300 years ago were no longer a stone age. It was the
beginning or close to the beginning of civilization.
> Jesus spoke the sermon on the mount in the stone age.
2,000 years ago was no longer the stone age.

They should live a modern life like everybody else.

I'd say you're talking non-sense. There is no way to compare Tibetan/
African to the people of Israel today.
I say you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

A story of Americans who suffered oppression in the USA, and moved to
Africa showing that a modern world and a primitive lifestyle have much
to gain by respecting what it means to subsist on the land as a
primitive village with an ancient culture and lifestyle in a global
world. Learning modern computer skills PLUS the universal language:
ENGLISH.

Moving back to Africa is NOT the answer. That was tried already. The
country of Liberia was created by the people once were slaves in
America. Many Black-Americans have tried going back to Africa to
live, only to find death, Stokely Carmichael moved to Africa and died
of cancer.
That's all true. But in today's virtual world and the real world that
generation n understands, they really have the best of all of it.
It's a remarkeable story, of a family finding
peace and fulfillment, in a real community in a village in a
beautiful, unspoiled part of the real world, while in touch with the
global virtual world.
Do we really have the best? Do we know what the best is? My answer
is, the best is alway the future generations to come.
> It's a remarkeable story, of a family finding
> peace and fulfillment,
I wonder how many families can say they have found peace and
fulfillment.
> in a real community in a village in a

Unsoiled part of the world? I wonder where that is!!!
> while in touch with the

No, we are a world apart. That is why we have wars.
We have wars because there is no communication.

My family moved to California when they cut down all the orange groves
in Orange County in the fifties, and turned them into housing tracts
on quarter acre lots. There were so many crows living off them oranges
and breeding in the trees that the sky darkened as they flew over
twice a day.

It/s an inspiring story of an American family that overcame oppression
in the USA in the sixties, by founding something better in a real
community in Tanzania, Africa..
