YOUR STAY
Description:
- 2 hours lessons in the morning (you can choose either painting or calligraphy). Lessons
will be given in Chinese by teachers of the Art Institute of Yunnan, in Kunming, selected
by the painter and calligrapher HE YIFU, professor and director of the Five Arts
Department. The trainees will find classrooms available all day, if they wish to further
individual training exercises. Translation will be performed by two interpreters.
- Visits in Kunming and surroundings in the afternoons and at weekends. Numerous trips and
walks in the parks, temples, and museums of Kunming have been planned: CUIHU park, near
the "Green Lake", DAGUAN park, with its superb bonsaï collection and XVIth century tower,
the flower and bird market, the JINDIAN temple or the"Gold Temple", the Ethnic Minorities
Museum, SHILIN, the famous "Stone forest" with its vertiginous pinnacles, XISHAN, the
"Western Hills", called "The Sleeping Beauty Mounts", with their extraordinary view on the
DIAN lake. Also included in the program: three evenings. One will be a lecture about
Chinese Art, another one will be a traditional Chinese Music Concert, and the last one a
"Minority Dances" show.
- A four day trip to DALI and around the fabulous ERHAI lake wil be an opportunity to go
deeper into Yunnan, to discover the BAI Minority, where the painter HE YIFU comes from,
and do sketches of the wonderful landscapes of that particular region.
ACCOMODATION
- in Kunming: comfortable student rooms (with TV, telephone, large windows and desks);
- in DALI: three stars hotel. There will be 2 persons in each room. People who wish to be
single will 200 F ($ 40) in addition.
Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) will be taken:
- in Kunming at the three stars hotel LIANYUN;
- in DALI at a place with corresponding quality.
TRANSPORT
A minibus wil be available for any collective journey during the whole stay.
STAFF
2 members of "Encres de Chine" association will accompany participants from Rennes and on,
during the whole stay.
In Kunming, you will be welcomed and guided by Bernard Alanic, President of the
association, and the painter HE YIFU, above mentioned.
Be sure that we will all do our best for you to have a pleasant stay and enjoy the Chinese
way of life as much as possible.
