Sometimes ago, the headline of the Xinhua news is something like old
China civilization meeting ancient western tradition of Olympic games.
The meeting had been accomplished at the top of the world. China has
accepted the west. Does the west accept China?

If something as simple as China hosting the Olympic games means China
accepted the West, then I suppose that the Olympic games choosing China to
host the Olympics means the West accepts China. At least by your own simple
logic.

The Olympic committees certainly accept China. The Chinese people also
wholeheartedly support the Chinese government to host the 2008
Beijing Olympic. But how about the west?

Are any countries in "the West" keeping their athletes at home? No. I
guess that means they accept China. It's your logic.

Can you be more specific on "It is your logic"?

You said China accepted the West based soley them hosting a sporting event
and taking a torch up a mountain. If by that simple logic you can say China
accepts the West then the West must accept China because it is going to
China to participate in the games.

No. You interpret me wrong.I did not base on China hosting a sporting
event. Rather, I based on China and the Chinese people trying their
best in making that particular sport event an event to be celebrated.
The torch relay and the effort to mark the event at the top of the
world is indicative of China's effort to make the 2008 Olympic game an
event to be celebrated. I raised the question on the same logic. Many
in the west do not appear to want the 2008 Olympic game an event to be
celebrated.

When all the athletes go they will 'try their best in making that particular
sport event an event to be celebrated'.
