Dear Friends,
Authorised by the IFCSS, Virginia Tech is responsible for organizing
a nonbeneficial Chinese painting sale which is going to be one of the October
1st activities in Washington D.C. We encourage all interested people to join
it. Now we anounce for the first time the rules set by IFCSS.
1) Since it is a NONBENEFICIAL sale of Chinese paintings, the sale's income
will be totally contributed to our democracy movement. So all participants
should make sure that you are joining this event by absolutely your own will
of supporting the movement.
2) However, we are suggesting to the IFCSS that all participants get
something back in memory of their work which is highly appreciated by the
IFCSS. Also, upon the agreement of the participants, the News Freedom Herald
will publish their names as formal thanks to them.
3) About the paintings, we have the following requirements/suggestions:
a) Only Chinese paintings are acceptable. The black-white inkstroke
paintings(Po1 Mo4 Hua4) are the most preferred.
b) We strongly recommend that the topics be the Chinese landscape and
Chinese culture related themes, but not the ordinary flower, animal
paintings. Of course, you may chose something else which you think
is relevant.
c) Please make sure to TUO1 your painting(s) before you mail them. This
is because we do not have enough man power to do this job. It is
highly recommended and appreciated that you BIAO3 or frame your
paintings and send them by APS (American Parcel Survice) which is a
lot cheaper. (If you only TUO1 your work you can send them by ordinary
mail---put it into an envelope).
d) No paintings larger than 20' X 20' are acceptable. All paintings
have to be sent to us by Sept. 25(allow 2-3 days on the way) with a
letter telling us your address and phone # and indicating if you are
willing to have your name published on the News Freedom Herald.
e) If you think that you do not have enough time to finish your work by
Sept. 25 but you still want to join this event, you may go ahead do
it and bring it to D.C. on October 1st. However, please still inform
us your name, address, phone# etc. We thank you for your cooporation.
f) Please send your work to
