Seeking info on proverb ....

Dear Sir/Madam:

For a novel that a colleague of mine is writing, he needs to have
various national/cultural equivalents to the rather mean-spirited Czech
adage:

"If my goat dies, then at least my neighbour's pig should die."

If you know of any such adage, proverb, or old saying conveying the
same sentiments as the aforecited Czech adage, kindly send it to me in the
