SEA Games golf club has opened for public (Photo)

Standing Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the SEA Games
Organising Committee, Mr Somsavat Lengsavad, led committee members,
officials and businesspeople in a round of golf at the SEA Games Golf
Club at Km 18 yesterday.
The event was held to test the new course which will be used during
the SEA Games in December. The opening of the facility means the
public can now play on the competition course in the lead-up to the
games.
The course, located in Phokham village, Xaythany district, will
eventually have 27 holes.
Secretary General of the Lao Golf Federation, Mr Songkham Silaphet,
said the course is ready for the games, for which only 18 holes are
needed.
The Asean Civil Bridge-Road Company began construction of the course
in January 2008.
However, the Booyoung Company from South Korea took over construction
of the facility in March this year.
The company spent US$15 million constructing the international
standard golf course on about 150 hectares of land in Vientiane .
Manager of the Booyoung Company from South Korea , Mr Lee Joong Keun,
said the company tried to conserve the surrounding environment and
make a beautiful, natural course.
“We are proud to help Laos host the 25th SEA Games. We hope Lao
golfers will win medals during the games. On behalf of the company, I
promise to continue to help Laos in education, the construction of
infrastructure, and the development of the Lao economy,” he said.
Mr Lee Joong Keun said the course can be used to host international
events in the future because it meets the required standards.
The SEA Games Golf Club has not yet officially opened the course, but
it is now ready for Lao golfers to prepare for the SEA Games.

to the official KPL Lao News Agency: "The mass media at all times are
involved in the Party strategy and tactics...The Lao Journalists'
Association also took steps in urging journalists to serve the country
and people, being Party and Government announcers, disseminating
policies and motivating the people to implement two strategic tasks:
development and the country's security and protection."

able to support such an expensive golf course. Isn't expensive golf
courses being played by rich people (party bosses) a contradiction to
the communist mantra? How do you convince the poor farmer or the
police officer that he should work for almost a $1 a day so the party
bosses can go play golf? They must be really good at what they do
because everyone is happy. My guess is eventually the poor farmer,
soldier, police officer who gets a $1 a day will not be too happy if
the boss play too much expensive golf.

In case your Laotian People is not aware of the Laotian Golf Players,
most of them are business people, police officers, village leaders,
governors, mayors, and high ranking LPDR Generals who are very rich
with assets over billions. Billion kips, not billion dollars. A couple
months ago, I was a multi billionaires Kips in our country.
Tell your comrades that most of foreigners are gerouse and please
bring in your most beautiful hookers to where the foreign golf players
stay.
Your father Vietnamese may not be good to bring in your hookers but
Hmong from US, Thai, US, Russia, America, are good at giving big tips.

citizens afford an entry fee which will cost them couple month of
their salaries to play one game in this golf course? Only CHAO who
dwell on the foreign donors' money can spend lavishly on this golf
course. Remember the basic Communist theory that everyone supposed to
have the same. Oh..Lao cave-dwelling leaders are on the corruption
classes and the rest of untouchable classes.
Who will gain from this golf course? Sao dinh, S. Korean owner only!
