Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin told reporters that "If he wishes to
study overseas, as a Chinese citizen, he can, like any other Chinese
citizens, process relevant procedures with relevant departments
through normal channels in accordance to the law."
China Daily carried a similar report saying: Chen Guangcheng, a
Chinese citizen, may apply to study abroad according to laws with
relevant departments and through the same channels as other Chinese
citizens." (see website below)
Chinese President Hu Jintao whom Obama had honoured with a state
reception when he last visited the White House, must have returned
this diplomatic quid pro quo, as this gesture to his graceful host
President Obama. Now, on the surface, Obama has scored a diplomatic
victory...for the USA...for human rights. It will go a long way
towards Obama's bid to win another term.

Actually, Chen could leave if the US government had asked BEFORE all
these
"escape and rescue" theatrical. China would have no problem letting
him
leave at all.

Such acts may be construed by the Chinese as ...the US
is not willing to bring him and his family over to the USA.
It may affect his application for exit permit ..and Obama
will be blamed for failing to help him and his family.

an extremely good idea. China has Brain excess capacity. The US could
also do with Re-education. What you called "purist" capitalism, is in
fact nothing other than a support for your collective belief that
"humans" have always gone to WAR and hence Those who can DECLARE WAR
ON ANY OTHER NATION WITH IMPUNITY; has been tried before. It has had
many spectacular failures in history. Yours is also DOOMED; You TRIED
EMPOWERING the WORKERS and they ABUSED that power beyond savagery; you
now empowered YOUR ELITE beyond imagination and become SAVAGE BLOOD-
THIRSTY hoards...as Collectives
However, you FOUNDED your NATIONS; in the END as a COLLECTIVE you have
behaved as savage animals to distant cousins. Enslaving all humanity,
to this day for the vision of some DEMENTED INCESTUAL INBREDS

The main issue is not Chen. The main issue is China's demand for an
apology. China contributing the fund will allow Obama to save face.

.> The main issue is not Chen.
The main issue is about China and US relationship
within the backdrop of the export of US values to
other countries (including China).
Though not the overall main player...Chen is one of
the front man in China...on human rights.

China's demand of an apology is about saving face...
nothing to it.
> China contributing the fund will allow Obama to save face.
But...China will lose face. It will be like...olden Chinese
having to marry the pregnant daughter away...by offering
high dowry...and a bed. Humiliating to China.

A pregnant daughter is having another grandchild. There is nothing to
it today, married or unmarried.

The is nothing to it today ...in US society...a society where
it is fun to strip naked in the middle of a ball game..and
black unmarried mothers are in the majority.
In olden China, a man lose face if he had to give away
his pregnant daughter...offering high dowry...and a bed.
Even in Today's Chinese society...an unmarried pregnant
daughter is a shame to the family.
It would be humiliating to China if they have to pay for
Chen's trip to the USA. Uncle Sam will have to have
to take good care of Chen..as a reward for his excellent
work as a human right activist..
By the way, why are you, a non citizen, frothing in the mouth with
your testicle bags tied up in a knot?
There are so many Chinese citizens who are supporting Chen and calling
for the release of the hundreds who are unjustly detained. Likewise
there has been protests in Taiwaqn and Hong Kong.
So, will you say that those people are also US pawns?

I bet hundred of millions more Chinese citizens would consider
Chen a western pawn. It is natural that different people will reach
different conclusions concerning Chen or any other activists. One
should at least watch the video clip he had made and keep in mind
that he was blind and hence could not really tell whether he was
actually under watch as he had described in his video.
IMO, he has good reasons to be unhappy for being harassed, real
and imagined. However, the root cause is local and personal. On why
the central government did not take action to help him, it is a
legitimate
question. However, every government has to prioritize and solve its
biggest
and most urgent problem first. Take a good look at him. He is very
healthy
and living relative well for a blind 40 years old. In contrast,
millions of
Chinese are living under worse situations. Individuals can see the
tree and
forget the forest. A government cannot, else it is not doing its job.
I don't think he is any kind of traitor. However, in the sense that he
forced
the central government of divert time and energy on other more urgent
matters,
he is not doing the country a favor. Of course, many will blame him
for giving
foreign powers an excuse to deny China's rightful place in the world.
And I
think they have a point.

Sorry to inform you that I I speak for myself. I am commenting on
the Chen incident just like you. If you have objection on what I
had written because they could not reconciled with what were known
and because they were not logical, we certainly could a discussion.
If you think that for any reason, no one should voice anything unless
agreeable with your view, please explain.

No one speaks for anyone else, or speak for any government. We are
all pawns to big governments. We are only offering our divergent
views on subjects of common interest.

To an intellectual cripple like you, people who can see things
the Chinese ways...people who disagree with you and other
China bashers ...are China spokesmen.
What's wrong with speaking the truth about China ?
What's so great to be a brainless China basher ?
