DIDI'S BROTHER PUTS TMC MEN IN DOCK

Kolkata - In what could further reduce the comfort levels
of Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, one of her
brothers on Friday alleged close links between ruling
Trinamool Congress leaders and the ponzy fund swindlers.

In a statement that could do burrow holes in
Trinamool's claim to honesty, the Chief Minister's
younger brother Kartik Banerjee told an English news
channel how he had vainly appealed his partymen to
dissociate from chit-fund managers.

“I repeatedly warned these leaders about a year ago
against their chit-fund links but they refused to listen
to me. I told them that their connection with the chit-
fund owners would one day ruin the image of the party,”
Kartik said ruing “none listened to me making me feel
that I had been reduced to a minority in my party. The
chit-fund connection has done great damage to our
party's image.

The younger Banerjee's statement came almost in tandem
with a loud demand made by two Trinamool MPs for a CBI
probe into the chit-fund case clearly ignoring the
contention of the Chief Minister who had at a Thursday
rally questioned the credibility of the Central agency
citing the reprimand it got from the Supreme Court.
