In 1970, the elections in Pakistan did not go the way the the army
wanted it to go. The Pakistan army punished the East Pakistani
civilians for voting the way they did, by murdering 3 million
civilians in a mere 9 months. The gruesome genocide came to a halt
only after the Indian army forced the the 100,000 strong Pakistan army
in East Pakistan to surrender.
