Bangladesh Artist Exhibition on Arabic Calligraphy and Art

Artist Murtaja Baseer once again came up with 37 of his magnificent works of
art in an exhibition entitled "The Kalima Tayeba" in which painting and
calligraphy twined together. The exhibition at the city's Bangladesh Shilpakala
Aacademy gallery began on Friday afternoon ahead of the holy Ramzan. Eminent
educationist and Vice Chancellor of Southeast University Prof M Shamsher Ali
formally inaugurated the exhibition. Honorary Consul General of Romania and
Chief Editor of UNB Enayetullah Khan, Cultural Counsellor of Cultural Centre of
the Islamic Republic of Iran Shahaboddin Daraei and North South University's
English professor M Harunur Rashid also spoke on the occasion. Addressing the
inaugural function, Prof M Shamsher Ali said all creative art is created from a
belief of Almighty and paintings of Murtaja Baseer on 'Kalima Tayeba' is a
magnificent sign of creativity and spirit where paintings and calligraphy mixed
together. Enayetullah Khan said the artist has chosen to bring the 24 letters
of 'Kalima Tayeba' on the level of abstract painting with an abundance of warm
and cool colours that breathe a sense of mystery in their play of light and
shade. Cultural Counsellor of Cultural Centre of the Islamic Republic of Iran
Shahaboddin Daraei said various Islamic symbols are still alive due to their
creativity and artistic characteristics. Artist Murtaja Baseer said his
creation in art form came from an enormous sense of wonder about 'Kalima
Tayeba'. The exhibition will remain open till November 15 from 11 AM to 7 PM
and during Ramzan from 11 AM to 4 PM.
