After 10 hours of wrangling and banging their heads together
the friction between factions of the tory party and the Coalition
has melted the Ross Ice Shelf in Antarctica, and drowned Malcolm
Turnbull! 8^o

"There was no leadership spill but climate change sceptics
emerged from the meeting warning it was going to
be a "long night".

Mr Turnbull extracted his victory against the wishes
of a majority of Liberal MPs according to party
room sources.

"I am the leader. I have made the call," Mr Turnbull
declared at tonight's press conference.

The final tally was believed to be split right down
the middle.

Earlier, Mr Turnbull had walked out of the marathon meeting,
prompting furious efforts by Joe Hockey to reconvene talks.

Mr Turnbull was followed by angry MPs calling him mad

I got up and told him he's a caretaker leader. He's mad,
Wilson Tuckey said."

B^D Ironbar calling someone mad?
the Ironymeter 5000 just exploded! B^D

Ironbar is writing ALP campaign ads for the next election! B^D

"After a bombshell call from Liberal frontbencher Andrew Robb for the
Coalition to reject Labors emissions trading deal, rebel Liberal MP
Wilson Tuckey moved a spill motion against the leader.

But it failed to secure support.

Mr Turnbull is not out of the woods however, with Liberals warning his
leadership could be irrevocably damaged by the days events."

The Australian is running a poll showing two thirds
think Malcolm wont last a week as leader! 8^o

"The only thing which counts is money"
"Menzies founded a small-l liberal party.
All of that has gone.
They are no longer small-l liberals.
They are now the right-wing side of politics".

"Menzies always emphasised that the Liberal
Party was a liberal party.

He specifically rejected conservatism as a force
within the Liberal Party.

Now, reading those particular Menzies speeches
today, conservatism seems to be -- well, the whole
political spectrum has moved to the right."

How can the "right thing" whatever it turns out to be, ever emerge from
that sort of process?

Australian politics is becoming more bizarre by the day...

We now have the Liberal party having negotiated the Government ETS
into being a more expensive toll on the taxpayers to provide even more
compensation for the polluters, and the Greens voting against the only
program to reduce greenhouse gases on the table... B^D

Don't they all know who they are anymore? B^p

Now the entire Liberal party is tearing itself apart;

"Senior Liberals desert Turnbull" ABC

"Liberal frontbencher Tony Abbott has resigned from the frontbench
because he cannot support the emissions trading scheme (ETS).

Announcing his resignation late this afternoon, Mr Abbott said he made
his decision after he and Senator Nick Minchin went to see Opposition
Leader Malcolm Turnbull to urge him to reconsider the party's position
on the ETS."

A flood of rats are leaping over the sides of HMS Coalition! B^D

"Liberal MP Sophie Mirabella has also confirmed she has
resigned from the frontbench.

And Senators Nick Minchin, Eric Abetz and Stephen Parry have all
resigned from their positions"

I smell a Double Dissolution on the breeze, if Turnbull crumbles
amidst the turmoil, and the ETS goes down, the Libs will be
decimated...

Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull faced down a potential
challenge to his leadership yesterday after committing
the party to supporting the scheme.

But the party is still deeply divided over the legislation,
with several senators expected to cross the floor when it
comes to a vote early next week.

"My assessment of it is that the Opposition has no hope of winning the
next election."

That assessment was made by me ages ago

"I sat down last night and looked at it and, conservatively, we're
looking at a landslide."

Yup. The Liberal Party is facing extinction.

They are divided rabble.

Senators Mitch Fifield, Mathias Cormann and Brett Mason have offered to
resign from their frontbench positions and vowed to cross the floor, but
it is not yet known if Mr Turnbull has accepted their resignations.

Senator Cory Bernadi has also vowed to cross the floor and applauded
Senators Fifield, Cormann and Mason for quitting their portfolios.

This is a political party which 24 hours ago abandoned
hopes of dumping their leader.. BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO ALTERNATIVE!

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAA

So Who will lead the tories to defeat at the next election?

Andrew Robb?

Tony Abbott?

Shrek?

Bronwyn Bishop?

Godwyn Grech?

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAAAA

It's like literally opening a can of worms! B^D

# Yup. The Liberal Party is facing extinction.

Now everyone agrees with my early call, from Bob Brown, who predicts
the Coalition will never recover from the split rending it, to Andrew
Bolt, who concedes the Coalition will lose the next election, and
control of the Senate with it!

So, the next Rudd ALP government will be handed a larger majority,
ensuring it holds power for 2 or more election cycles, and the next
ETS, if this one is not passed, will be negotiated with the Greens!

It doesn't matter if it's a double dissolution or a normal election,
or who they elect as Leader de Jour (snigger) the result for the
Coalition will be the same.

And the Liberal Party will forever curse the names of Abbott, Minchin
and Robb, for sending them permanently into the wilderness and branding
them as luddites.

# They are divided rabble.

In politics, disunity is death.

They couldn't run a chook raffle! B^]

Who really cares?

We have what may be the best of all worlds;

The ETS could be scuttled, Rudd can claim "We tried but they
fucked it", the nation can move on to serious discussion of
nuclear power and reducing use of fossil fuels,
and the Lieberal party is splitting wide open and will be destroyed
for decades!!

I'm calling it "The Howard Legacy!"

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAAAA

Just like after Stalin died, and the mediocrities destroyed themselves.

> Andrew Robb?

It was Robb who bought the current split to a head, he is
probably more electable than Abbott.. but then a dog turd
dipped in vomit is more electable than Abbott! B^D

> Tony Abbott?

All around the country, believers and atheists, wowsers and
libertarian rakes will be hoping Tony gets the Bishops Mitre! B^D

The conservatives want him as leader because they can control him,
he has had EVERY position on the ETS possible! B^D

And the progressives and moderate middle want him as Lieberal leader
because then the Lieberal party will be reduced to something
more like the Democrats!

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAAHAHAA

> Shrek?
>

It can't be Shrek, yet, as he shares Turnbull's position
on Climate Change.. and he doesn't want the poisoned chalice
till closer till the election.. THE ONE AFTER THE NEXT ONE! B^D

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAAAA

> Bronwyn Bishop?

In the Relviolving door that is the Liberal Party leadership,
everyone will get a go, even that old slag!
