Tragedy Of Shooting Death Of A Chinese Artist At New York City

Hi,

This is Tong Zheng from Purdue University.

I like to share the information with you about a
shooting death tragedy of my friend's friend at
New York City that I just learned this morning.

The victim's name is Lin, Lin, he is 34. He came from
Zhe(/)Jiang(-)Mei(v)Yuan(\) (ZheJiang Art Academy) of
China. He had been working as a street artist at the NY
city. Lin was working while one of four men who had stopped
in front of the crowd watching he work had flung a chicken bone
at the artist who had retaliated by throwing a bottle at them.
One of the four fled and returned and one fired at Lin,
striking him once in the chest. Lin died a mount later.
Lin was said to be very generous and like to help people.
He also was committed to the student democracy movement in
China.

Our campus newspaper carries a whole story from UPI about the
tragedy, I am not able to include it here because of the copy right.
But I think you should be able to see the news in major newspapers,
especially ones at east coast. If you really can't find one that
carries the news, I can send you a copy via e-mail in personal.

I would like to see that the Chinese Student Organization and
Chinese Community take actions to make sure the killer(s) to
receive the punishment soon, and arrange help to victim's family.

Just can't believe that with a big crowd at the time, not a single
onlooker would do a bit thing to prevent the tragedy.
