TNB, Ghetto-ape NY Jets RB Mike Goodson arrested on weapons and drug charges

Jets running back Mike Goodson remained in a Morris County jail
after being charged with weapons and drug charges early Friday
morning.

According to the New Jersey State Police, Goodson was in the
passenger seat of a GMC Yukon stopped in the left center lane of
I-80 West near mile post 39 in Denville, N.J., when a tow truck
came upon them and called 911.

Goodson was evaluated and transported to Saint Clare's hospital
before he was released to the Netcong station for processing.
His bail was set at $50,000.

Goodson was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of
drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession
of a handgun, and possession of a hollow-point bullet. New
Jersey State Police said the gun was a .45-caliber semi-
automatic handgun.

The driver, Garant Evans, was given the same charges as well as
a DWI charge, possession of a weapon with a prior felony
conviction and multiple traffic summonses.

A team spokesperson said th Jets "are aware of the report and
are gathering information."

Goodson played at Texas A&M and was selected in the fourth-round
of the 2009 NFL draft by the Carolina Panthers. He was traded to
the Oakland Raiders last year.

The Jets signed Goodson to a three-year, $6 million contract in
March. His deal with the Jets included a guaranteed $1 million
signing bonus.
