His cancer ideas aren't crackpot, nor are they anything new.  A guy
here mapped all chromosome damage for a bunch of brain tumor patients,
and the deletions and insertions of large tracts of chromosomes was
frequent and all over the map.  The insertions can not only be in the
wrong place, but multiple copies of them.

These were patients with the same histological diagnosis too.  You'd
think they would have a lot more in common gene damage wise.  There
were some trends, but the variance in damage was amazing.

There certainly are some oncogenes involved, but the damage to the
chromosomes of glioblastoma patients is widespread.  The oncogenes
might not be such a problem until a lot of things happen to the
chromosome of one cell.

Perhaps a better question would be: can a scientist with a questioning
mind be trusted?

Do I trust Duesberg? Yes. My views about HIV and AIDS differ from
his, however I must admit I find him very hypnotic and enchanting and
could listen to him for hours. He's a very good speaker.

I've often compared belief in HIV with belief in God. Here are a few
statistics from Answers.com
<http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_people_believe_in_God_worldwide>:

----- Begin Quote -----

As of 2005 (most recent data), approximately 88 percent of the world's
population were said to "believe in God" (Cambridge University). This
is down from 96 percent in 2000. In the United States, 95 percent of
the population "believe in God."

----- End Quote -----

As someone who doesn't believe in God, I find it staggering that so
many people do. Are they trustworthy or deluded?

Can we trust people who look at the same evidence as ourselves and
come to a different conclusion?

Duesberg paid a high price for his stance on HIVAIDS. Whether or not
you agree with him, he obviously has integrity.
