Quite an interesting picture.
And an explanation.

On the same website (Mike Lee's) is a very interesting article about 2.4 GHz radios. Click on the link to "The 2 Point 4 Chronicles" For those of us who still haven't adopted 2.4, he dispels a lot of myths and demonstrates that 2.4 is quite robust--and talks about antenna installs.

I'm cheap, too. But I'm starting to look at the conversion options (the new Hitec Spectra module for my Evo looks like the cheapest so far). Not that I'm a big contest flyer, I'm awaiting the day when SWC and other contests require 2.4. I heard at least one major contest is going that way, already. And then there are the 'idiot' 72Mhz pilots who think that because everyone else is on 2.4 they don't have to pin up.

Model Aviation *finally* finalized my first article. They sent me the final draft for approval about a week ago. I got a check in the mail from them at about the same time. It got pushed back twice, but I'm told it will be in the January Model Aviation "fer sure". It talks about 2.4 GHz radio technology.
