Your blame is a little mis-directed. It's not really SnipURL service that is at fault, but rather the REGISTRAR of the Top Level Domain [dot] IM  .im

Though your anger certainly isn't (misplaced, that is). I am frustrated as well, though I have not used the sn.im in any "offcial" capacity.

You can log in and use your links with replacing sn.im with one of the other domains. spipr.com, for example... Mind you, they should already show up that way when you log in from one of the other domains.

Hard to say who's at fault here (or if it makes a difference at our level). It could be a simple clerical error, or Terms of Use violation on the side of SnipURL, which could be used to butt them out of the contract and re-sell the donain at a better price.

I certainly hope that someone didn't just forget to pay the bill for the month, because I would wanna see them FRY.

...as far as the business cards are concerned, put thise away for a better day. Not like you can get a refund. :o) And this may be resolved pretty soon and you may be able to use them again.

I never saw any "chinese sex ads" on the page (which is a standard domain parking page - nothig obscene or sinister about it), but then I didn't feel compelled to "investigate" where these banners lead. I got burned before the days of pop-up blocker days.

KEEP IN MIND, not only is this a FREE SERVICE, it's also entirely spam-free, and AD FREE as well.

I pretty much really liked it so far, and the interface is superior to all the other ones I have tried so far.

Go with the lesson learned: for professional services (professional purposes) use a professional (read: NOT FREE) address. ...or learn to live with occasional hickup - or on this case, disaster  :o)

Sincerely,

All sn.im links now point to a page with Chinese ads with links like
"sexy videos", "hot videos".

I rely on your service for my job search and printed sn.im links on my
resume and business cards. This is a serious blow to my (and your)
credibility.

How can I trust your service after this?

Please provide a detailed explanation and follow-up of the problem.
