Although it may not look like it, the next iteration of Snarl is
progressing well behind the scenes. There will be a new Windows API
which will closely mirror SNP. SNP will also be transmittable(?) via
HTTP (send it to port 9887). JSON support will be maintained and will
also mirror the new API format.

There will also be a significantly modified preferences panel which
will hopefully make customising individual alert classes a lot easier
and more intuitive.

In the meanwhile, although I've made an effort to keep to date with
user concerns and requests, I feel I may well have missed some so it
would be appreciated if people reading this post could reply with
their top 10 issues and requests just to jog my memory.

I plan to release an Alpha build pretty soon in case people are
interested in seeing the progress to date.

Thanks

Chris

Ideas in no particular order.

1. The "away mode" in GFW sounds interesting. Maybe with scheduled
away times.

2. More flexibility with EZstyles.
Ability to position and skin the "options" button.
Ability to add extra buttons.
Improvement of icon positioning and margins.

3. Copy to clipboard

4. Forward to email, sms, etc

I'll try to keep thinking of more.

You could add a [Sound] section in EZstyles also so each scheme could
have an associated sound. Then put an option in the Audio>Sounds menu
for "Style Decides"

Nevermind, I'm stupid. It is working.

Already slated for the next release. Away mode (auto sticky
notifications) will be configurable in number of minutes of inactivity.

Sorry for the late reply. I put again a wish I made some time ago:
When I manually close a notification (or several ones, e.g. "Close
all"), it would be nice if it/they would disappear immediately,
without fading out during 1 or 2 seconds.

Just started using SnarlOSD and have a number of improvements in mind:

1. Auto disable Snarl when using apps in full screen (e.g. watching
videos on VLC). But, this should be customisable, so I should be able
to see volume changes.

2. Volume change support for Windows 7, Snarl OSD works but it isn't
the most elegant solution as it shows the change in percentage and
there is no "bar".

3. Limiting the number of notifications (once it filled my screen and
I had to wait for them to disappear before I could use the computer
again).

4. Is there any way for any app that displays a notification in
Windows 7 (for example downloading a torrent in utorrent) to show
itself through Snarl instead? Right now I have add-ons for some apps
but I can't find anything for Dropbox, so whenever Dropbox is updated
it shows the standard Windows 7 notification.

Thanks for the great app!
