I can't find a good replacement on the headphones... I've researched too!
As for a car adapter, I use the monster fm modulator. I have friends who
use the cradle that plugs directly into the cigarette lighter plug. Both
seem to work really well.

Never ask a man what computer he uses.

If it's a Mac, he'll tell you. If it's not, why embarrass him?

Does your car have an aux. in plug or do you need an fm transmitter?

Buzz, I use and am sold on the Bose earbuds.  I found better prices on eBay than in stores.  For over the ear headphones, Koss is what I prefer.  After all, they invented the stereo headphone.

I tried them and wasn't $100 impressed. A buddy has the shure brand and
says they are great. I can't justify spending that kinda coin on earphones,
knowing how I abuse them. I got my monster cable off ebay for 30 or 40
bucks a few years ago. I got one for my Dad too.

The Atrio's are phenominal. If they're a little pricy for you, try the Etymotic ER•6

These are both in-ear phones and come with a wide range of adapters to guarantee an excellent fit. As an added bonus, you can get custom ear moulds made for the Atrios, giving you perfect isolation, the most comfortable fit, and the absolute best frequency response. I love wearing these on my bike... nothing but music.

As for adapters, the latest generation of iPods, including the iPod touch and iPhone will not take power from most of the adapters out there. All previous iPods had Firewire support, and it was easy for 3rd party manufacturers to make power adapters that took advantage of that. The new devices only charge via USB so you need an adapter that provides power that way. Read the specs very, very carefully.

that actually was her idea and implementation with no adult help--she is always a surprise for sure----but then yesterday she saw a frosty door handle and had to give it a lick--you probably know the rest of the story!

Hey Buzz,

I got a pair of these but didn't pay $100. It took me a while but I found
them for less than $50.

Great sound and the noise limiting is very nice. Sennhauser(I think) makes
a good pair too. I got my FM dohickey at Wally.
