almond flour pie crust

A few days ago I mentioned this but never managed to send the recipe. My apologies, and here it is!

Source

Ingredients:

• 1 and 1/2 cups almond meal or almond flour
• 3 tablespoons melted butter
• Artificial sweetener equal to 3 tablespoons sugar (we do not include this!)

Preparation:

Heat oven to 350 F. Melt the butter (if the pie pan is microwave safe, melt the butter in it) and mix the ingredients up in the pan and pat into place with your fingertips.

Bake for about 10 minutes until the crust is beginning to brown. After 8 minutes, check every minute or so, because once it starts to brown it goes quickly.

Nutritional Information: The whole pie shell has 11 grams effective carbohydrate plus 17 grams fiber and 30 grams protein.

We used the bread (which made ten small rolls) to make mufalata sliders yes the dang phone spelled out wrong didn't it?

They were good! We enjoy the flour but remember not to eat too much at a time!

I hate it when I have to respond to my own post, that second post is not the flour that is recommended. Blanched is what I should have sent and now I am afraid that I ordered the wrong flour. No, I just checked and this is what I ordered:

It's nutty...very good in biscotti! Just don't eat a ton...I made that mistake when we made pizza crust and paid for it!

The nutty flavor is mild and good...it is subtle but there. I personally like it although my son didn't like the biscuits we made with it.

Not cheap...but my wife and I are watching diet and limiting carbs. Diabetes runs in both families so we are aggressively working on our health.
