Evening Group!

After being unemployed for 2 years, I finally got a position in sales.  I was informed I needed a smartphone.

I have long avoided the inevitable purchase, but Now is the time.  I don't want to start a fight on here but i am

am looking for opinions on purchasing an Iphone or droid.  I have models picked out in each category.  I need

one that will jive with the companys email system and take pretty good pictures, but I also want it simple.  I won't

be spending much time on the internet watching movies but will probably use it as a GPS.  Any help and opinions

are apprecited.  Remember, NO fighting!!

Thanks

Jeff

I have the samsung s III. it's great. but fragile. I'm on my third phone in less than a year. First one i had was flaky and sailed across the room nicely. 2nd was fine and worked as advertised, but the glass shattered when dropped onto my concrete driveway. bought a case for the 3rd and haven't had a problem.

My wife has a lucid - they loaned me one while my phone was being repaired. I loved it and would have kept it, if i didn't already have the samsung.

Also purchased a Sony smart watch that reads calls and emails off the phone. Makes things real easy when i can't be digging the phone out of my pocket, or need to keep informed of things when the phone needs to be silent.

Stick with a well reviewed phone and you can't go wrong either way.  I have an iPhone and my son has the Samsung Note...both are great and both do the job.  I prefer the availability of apps on the Droid, but like the build of the iPhone much more than any other I tried.  I drop my phone a lot and plastic housings don't do well for me!  The iPhone in a Balistic cover has stood up to the worst I have to give.  A critical piece is to make sure your company has the necessary setup for your mail connection.  We have Lotus Notes and it requires Lotus Traveler to connect directly with my phone.

Does your company IT department have a recommendation?  I know at several companies they will only allow a specific phones to receive corporate e-mail.  My employer only allows personal BlackBerrys or IPhones, no droids allowed.  Since am allergic to apples, I have a droid and no one can bug me off hours :)

Your a very smart man! Mine is on a corporate account...no getting
away! I had choices between BBerry, Droid and iPhone, but they were
going to find me one way or another.

My employer provides Iphones or Blackberries for corporate email, but we are moving away from Blackberries.
