The family get together yesterday went very well. The brisket was done around 1:00 and we did not eat until around 6:00 so I held it in a 145° oven. It was tender, but not mushy, just the way that I wanted. Everyone seemed very happy with the results, My wife prepared stacks of carryout boxes and I was left with enough brisket to make one sandwich, maybe. She always does this, so it is expected. We keep a crate of carryout/contest turn in boxes plus deli tubs for people to take leftovers home. We got tired of losing all of our plastic storage containers which never got returned. Anyway, it was well liked enough so that no one said no to the carryout.

Hi Mike

Sounds like a great time. I like the idea of the carryout  boxes. Where do you get them? I've tried WalMart and COSTCO with no luck.

Sam's Club has all types of carryout boxes . I have had the same problem. Sounds like great brisket.

I get them from Gordon Food Service, but I have seen them at Restaurant Depot.

Thanks Mike. I have neither in my area, but will try restaurant supply dealers or the Internet.

I always have them when I do a catering job, since some people would like to take home leftovers, and IF you are ever doing a large catering event they are a must since there's people who don't care to stay and eat. Beats the time and aggravation of trying to foil a plate.   There are several large catering jobs where I serve it in the to go containers, then I don't have to stop or the servers aren't trying to figure which plate or box to use,  They are great if you use pkgd individ chips or cookies they stay in the box and not on the floor.
