Hi,

SNIA distributes its MOF files at http://www.snia.org/tech_activities/standards/curr_standards/smi. But there is no license either in the .zip file or on the web page, all the MOFs say just "Copyright (c) 2011 SNIA.  All rights reserved.", which is not much useful - IMHO that means I cannot distribute the MOF files with my product nor change them in any way or even subclass the classes defined there. Did I miss any license agreement page?

I don't see MOFs for 1.4/1.3 release versions. Where can I get them?

Hi Folks,

The SNIA has had a number of similar requests recently.

I wanted to let the group know that we are working internally on resolving the issues as quickly and as thoroughly as possible. I don't have a specific date, but as soon as the fixes are in place we will respond to the individual inquiries and post a message to the Google group for the benefit if all.
Your questions are a positive sign that the community wants to strengthen SMI-S and refine the processes in which it is made available; this is greatly appreciated!

Regards,
- Tom

Actually I have a similar question about some of the dmtf files for CIM since I'm debating about using the dtd or xsd file for the make test scripts for Lib CIM Perl.
And in the future I possibly may get into the mofs for version 1.0+ so I'm curious about this my self.

Hello,

Do we have older mofs available for reference?

Following up on this thread...

The updated SNIA MOF zip files can be found on the Storage Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S) Releases web page. (http://snia.org/tech_activities/standards/curr_standards/smi)

These updated zip files include a new text file with appropriate legal language covering Copyright and Redistribution. Links for the two updates SNIA MOF zip files are:
