As a result of the Slow Food USA Grow the Movement membership offer,
we have almost doubled our formal membership since September. We have
roughly 130 members in North Hawaii, 40 in the Hilo/Keaau/Pahoa area,
and 30 in the Kailua-Kona/Keauhou area--for a total of over 200
members! There are over 380 of you on this list, so we have many more
who support our goals, without being formal members.
Remember the mission:
Slow Food USA seeks to create dramatic and lasting change in the food
system. We reconnect Americans with the people, traditions, plants,
animals, fertile soils and waters that produce our food. We work to
inspire a transformation in food policy, production practices and
market forces so that they ensure equity, sustainability and pleasure
in the food we eat.
