Aloha Kakou,
SF USA is sponsoring a national work day on September 25th. Slow Food
Hawaii has chosen to use this as an opportunity to support school
gardens across the island and we are looking for SFHawaii members to
volunteer at any one of 6 gardens that are participating. We would
like to have a few members at each event to take pictures, share a
little bit about Slow Food and generally be ambassadors of Slow Food
Hawaii. Of course the workday will be followed by a potluck, so bring
a dish (slow and local) to share with all the volunteers.
This is an excellent opportunity for our members to step up and get
more involved in Slow Food. We would love to see some new faces at
each garden. Speaking from personal experience, working in the gardens
is so rewarding and I am always inspired by the garden leaders and
students. Don't miss this opportunity!
Please follow the link below to see the beautiful postcard Nancy
Redfeather and the Kohala Center, our partner for this project, have
put together. It lists the gardens, contact information and times of
the event as well as what to bring.
Mahalo in advance for your support on this important Work Day. Just
think, you'll be one of thousands of Slow Food Members all working in
their communities to support good, clean, fair food on this day!
Aloha,
Clare
