SLolar Central | Google Groups

Welcome SLolar Central -- a gathering place for Second Life Scholars, educators who are committed to exploring the possibilities of SL, a place where avatars can experiment with modes of communication, movement, etc. to enhance their SL experiences, offering free temporary "homes" for people to use as they explore.

You can browse the Discussions area of this Google Group to get an idea what our group is all about. If you are already a SLolar member:

1. Please go to the Members section and update your image. You can choose to either upload a RL or SL image of yourself. I've chosen a RL image because I tend to change my SL image like, well...underwear (LOL).

2. We should make MUCH use of the Pages section. Here members can create a new page AND members can go in and edit that page (much like a wiki). This is a great section to post project ideas or How-Tos and allow all of us to go in to contribute and comment.

3. The Files section allows you to upload documents, etc. Keep in mind that this is much like a 'filing cabinet'. You can upload, but you can't edit. This section should be used for final documents, such as How-Tos or Announcements, etc. that have may already gone thru a peer review process in the Pages section.

4. MOST IMPORTANT: Make sure to click on 'Edit my membership' on the right side. You will want to change how you receive notification of updates/changes to the Group. I always choose the Digest Email to be received once a day. What you decide is your choice.
