resolving slideshare link to embed code without api?

Has anyone tried resolving a slideshare url to embed code without
using the API? I know it's fairly easy to do with youtube videos, you
just regex out the video id from the url, and substitute it into the
embed code at the proper place. The slideshare embed code looks a bit
hairier though.

For clarity's sake, the end use is something like facebook's sharer,
where you post a link, and it says "hey i know what that thing is!"
and turns it into an embedded object instead of just a link out.

In such cases I would use YQL.
Ex:
     For url: http://www.slideshare.net/cheilmann/planning-javascript-and-ajax-for-larger-teams-174408
I can get embed urls like these.
