Subject: Follow-up to Beginning Flex For Designers
Hi Everyone,

The website where you can find the presentation doc and files are at
http://www.colejoplin.com. Just follow the presentation menu links.

Last night, we had an error with the tiling layout sample I wanted to
show. I had forgotten to set the cross domain security. That's
actually a really common error, even for Flash developers. There are
some details about this that can be found here:
http://curtismorley.com/2007/08/31/flash-cs3-flex-2-as3-error-2148/

I decided to adjust my compile properties by doing
File->Properties->Flex Compiler->Additional Compiler Arguments, and
added "-use -network=false".

I have posted a working version of this at
http://colejoplin.com/samples/tiling/main.html

If anyone has any questions, just post them to the group.

-- Cole

Thanks for an excellent presentation Cole! I have had several comments
today saying that your presentation is exactly what we needed. It is a
great overview of Flex from a Designers perspective. If you did not
get a chance to attend last night, don't worry! We were able to record
it.

For those of you that were not able to make it, we tried Adobe Connect
for the first time - and recorded Cole's presentation. You can view
the presentation here:

I bought a USB Mic so that we can record and broadcast the meetings
real-time. I will be providing a link prior to each meeting so you can
participate in the meeting even if you can't make it in person. Stay
tuned for details.

Thanks again everyone.
Hadley

Here's the link to the component explorer that I mentioned last night.
http://examples.adobe.com/flex3/componentexplorer/explorer.html
It's a great jumping off point to see some of the cool things you can do
with flex.
