to Google SketchUp Help - Ruby ideas
I was just thinking of a way to allow users to organize their scripts.
Having each script decide where to go was a mistake. There needs to be
a global Menu module where scripts can register themselves on first
run, suggest a default submenu, but ultimately let the user decide
where to put the script.
A registery system would allow a "menu editor" plugin to be written;
with drag-and-drop functionality to allow users to move scripts
wherever they want.
I know there are many scripts already out there that, as they exist,
would not work with the proposed system. However, waiting any longer
to implement such a needed feature will only make it harder in the
future.
There's no denying customizable menus will come to SketchUp sooner or
later. It's a standard feature in most modern software. Let's get this
organized now instead of later.
Will SketchUp 7 have any new functionality in this area?
