Description:
open source app for making SkeinForge easier to use (screenshot and link below). While it's not completely ready for primetime, the basic functionality works fine. We're open to beta-testers and CocoaCoders that want to join the project or could provide patient, detailed testing and feedback.

start and end files
|
| |
Where are the start and end files stored that skeinfox uses? I am
trying to change the temperature, but no matter what I set the temp
to, my g-code files all have a start and end command to set the temp
to 240....?
thanks

SkeinFox v1.50 released
|
| |
SkeinFox v1.50 released A lot of changes in SkeinFox v1.50. Most notably, we're now using the very latest Skeinforge with tons of assorted goodies and fully integrated "Raftless" (thanks Eberhard!). Importantly, you will need to delete/move your ~/.skeinforge directory in order to use the new version of SkeinFox successfully. This was unavoidable since there have been sooooo many changes to skeinforge since Skeinforge-0006. It should be very easy to tweak your old settings back into a new SkeinFox template though. See below for details or reply to this email thread with questions.... more »

Hey, I was wondering where I could find the values used in Skeinfox so that I could run a batch process on a linux machine using Skeinforge? Thanks, Nils

Values used in Skeinfox?
|

Hi Nils, You can find the values on github, just download the source code (link below). you can actually use the .skeinforge git repo as your .skeinforge directory no matter what OS you run (just install git). [link] [link] jordan

Skeinfox
|
| |
Yep, it's a convention from Linux and due to the Unix underpinnings in OS X is what allows so much linux software to run under OS X. You could look at hacking the skeinforge.py script but the dependency on ~/.skeinforge may exist in more than one file. If you do change the name SkeinFox will be unable to find it and will recreate a new ~/.skeinforge directory with a new set of templates. For MakerBot we don't even use the latest version of skeinforge on Enrique's site, so I'm hesitant to provide a custom location for the .skeinforge directory that may not be forward compatible.... more »

Features for 1.03...
|
| |
SkeinFox has become part of my MakerBot workflow and I'm thankful Jordan wrote it. I have a couple of feature suggestions for the next version. On more than one occasion I've accidentally deleted a settings template. It's also unclear to me as to which settings template a new one is based upon. So to address these two issues I propose these enhancements:... more »

new skeinfox problem
|
| |
Ok, this is strange.
Intel, OSX 10.6.2, SkeinFox has been working for me just fine. Now the console stops at "File <foo>.stl is being chain exported."
I've deleted ~/.skeinforge and reinstalled SkeinFox, but still nothing. There's no python process running, but it looks like SF was able to... more »

end of print behavior
|
| |
yes, the end.txt file in skeinfox goes back to absolute coordinates 0,0,20 and keeps the nozzle hot for aiding in mass manufacturing. just open your .gcode file and look at the last Gcodes and change the position(s) from 0,0,20 to 0,0,X where X is some integer taller than your object. You may need to open the stl file in something like Blender to see the height.... more »
