Pope Benedict XVI has declared 2009 "The Year For Priests." Because of
this, Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Laurent Churches in Meriden, CT.
held a joint celebration to honor both Father David Carey and Father
Joseph Pulaski. Over 200 people packed the basement hall of Mount Carmel
to enjoy food, drinks, fellowship, and musical entertainment with the
two priests. Father Pulaski, who just turned 90, sat at a table eating
and having a good time by cracking jokes with everyone. Pulaski has been
helping the churches in Meriden for well over 25 years after spending
most of his life as a missionary in China. He also celebrates Mass at
St. Marys and St. Stanislaus Churches in Meriden when needed. My mother,
Rita Coss, was very good friends with Father Pulaskis' sister Mary, as
they went to local Prayer Groups together. My Uncle, Ed Lemke said he
remembers Father Pulaski coming to St. Marys School in 1957 to talk to
the students about China. Pulaski, who just had surgery, said he was a
little tired but wasn't going to let that stop him from coming to the
party. From everyone in The City of Meriden, Connecticut and myself Tom
Coss we wish both Father Dave Carey and Father Joseph Pulaski All The
Best And STO LAT! May God Bless them both in a very special way for all
the good that they do for the churches in Meriden. Dziekuje Bardzo i Bog
Zaplac! Thank You, Take Care, And GOD BLESS! From, TOM COSS
