Subject: FW: Science Demo Day at Centerville Jr. High in Fremont
Hello Dr. Cayco,
Can you forward the following email to the math club and see if anyone is interested in helping us out at the Fremont outreach activity?
Thanks,
Janice

Hi everyone,
Our science demo day at Centerville Jr. High is fast approaching. It will take place from around 8:30am - 12pm on Fri. May 22, which is make-up finals day at SJSU, which means many of you should be done with school by then.
We will be doing event for the entire school, which is about 720 people. They will not all come in at once. It is a short day for them, so we will have about 130 or so people every period, which is 25 minutes. So far, we plan to have about 6 tables of various workshops. I realize that this is a large crowd and not many of us have worked with such a big group of students before. However, I think if we can sit together and plan things out, it should be a fun day. The idea is to expose them to all sorts of scientific phenomena and get them interested in science and engineering.
As of now, here are the list of people who have responded to my request for presenters at the event:
For sure going: Janice, Jorie, Thanh
Strong maybes (meaning u are really interested but haven't confirmed you are coming for sure yet): Mika, Theresa, Hanna, Ruth, Amanda Pera, Kelly Ryan, Mary Cooper.
There will also be some math and science club students at the school helping out.
For those of you who are "strong maybes", please confirm with me if you can or cannot go as soon as possible. Also, please ask around to see if any other people are interested in helping out.
Janice
