1. Math 235: Wavelets, Fall 2009, Dr. Dodd
Course Description: An elementary course in wavelets and their
applications. The course is designed for students in math, physics,
and engineering who are interested in wavelets or their applications
(image processing, signal processing, etc.). The course will be
application-oriented, although necessarily over half of the course
will involve the theory of wavelets.
Prerequisites: Calculus (Math 30-32), Linear Algebra (Math 129A).
Some familiarity with Fourier series, Fourier transforms and MATLAB
would be advantageous, though not essential.
2. Dr. Becker needs 60 good math students on Thu May 28 to score
open-ended assessments in grades 3-8. No experience necessary; you
will be trained. Pay is $100 plus continental breakfast and lunch.
