Subject: Zoneflex Code
A bit of  curly one guys but I'm thinking outside the square again. Is
it possible to have a floating content library zone that could be
inserted into an editable region? What I mean by floating is it isn't
fixed to any specific area on a site but rather can be fed into an
editable area using a % code.

I have some content that is seasonal and I want specific items to feed
into an editable region in a template at the beginning of each month.
I've tried setting this up as a news item and an event item, but when
they feed in, they also feed in the title in text and the date and the
archived news link underneath, which I don't want.

I've done what I want on my new home page by creating a zone there and
it works well, but I don't to create another fixed content library
zone, I want the flexibility to change it if need be, so was thinking
if it was possible to create a floating zone that could be displayed
with a code, similar to the % siteflex codes used elsewhere.

Hi Victoria,

It would be possible to insert a Content Group into a Content Area,
but often you'll find these Content Groups require specific styling.

Another suggestion - which is currently possible - is you can modify
News/Events/Blog to display in different ways - without dates /
links / whatever. Although this will be most often be customised on a
template-level rather than a content-level.

What if the styling was done in Dreamweaver, would it hold when bought into
siteflex. I notice now when I bring in a table from Dreamweaver, it adopts
the site CSS and loses whatever I do in Dreamweaver. Is it possible then to
have a content group that ahs no CSS so I could control this?

And in relation to modifying news/blogs/events, can I specify what aspects I
don't want to display, for example, no date, no pages or archived views
link, just heading and content?

To execute this, is it just a matter of requesting it?

regards
Victoria

Yes you can customise News/Events/Blogs in this way - as I already
made reference to - without dates, without links, with or without
whatever a News item can have.

You can request this customisation work to be done, yes.

I don't know why you are bringing Dreamweaver up. It's not Siteflex
and should not be used to apply any styling. Please don't address this
point in any further response.
