Suppose you got an Internet connection, but not good enough for a SIP
call.

Normally the phone would fall back to PSTN in this case.

Enabling "trigger callback" will instead ask the PBX to initiate a
callback to
your mobile number, and connect the call to the dialed contact.

This makes sense if you like the PBX features (like calling a SIP URI,
simultaneous outbound, ability to transfer calls), or if it's cheaper
than a call from your mobile. I was using the function for calling
international numbers. Some plans allow you to get unlimited calls
from a certain number. That number could be assigned to your PBX.

ok, thanks.
but how can i configure this on pbxes.org?
and which plans allow you to get unlimited calls from a certain
number?

On PBXes it requires two settings in extensions:
1) The webcall URL needs to be set and entered into Sipdroid.
2) The mobile number needs to be in the "call forking" field.

In Germany mobile operators offer business plans which include
unlimited calling between mobiles and the main office number.

but the "call forking" future is related to inbound calls, the pbx
fork the call throw sip and pstn in order to receive calls, right?
your first answer talk about the possibility to make outbound calls
when sip is not available.
so i can't understand if the "trigger callback" feature activate the
pstn line to receive inbound calls or with this feature i can switch
extension from SIP to classic and make calls even when sip is not
available.

You are right: Callback is for outbound. But since this works by
calling you back it uses the number provided for inbound calls. So you
don't need to enter it twice.

Great, it works thanks to your help, but i have ever the same problem.
I never activated the "call forking" feature because i have to pay the
call from pbx to my mobile and with callback mode the problem
persist.
i'm writing from italy, someone know such provider that offer free or
flat rates to only one mobile?
