Yes, SG works with mail servers that require authentication. See the
following page, particularly the sections on "mount points" for IMAP
and SMTP
http://www.simple-groupware.de/cms/DataHandlers
EXAMPLE (GOOGLE IMAP)
In SG, create a new folder for your e-mail:
- click "Options" below the folder tree. A "New folder" panel
appears.
- complete the "Name" field then click the OK button below
Set the mount point :
- select the new folder then click "Mountpoint" below the folder
tree. A "New folder" panel appears.
- set the mountpoint type to IMAP
- enter the username, password
- set "Host name" to
imap.gmail.com
- set "Port" to 995 and select "SSL" from drop-down list at right
- click OK
Now when you select the e-mail folder, you should see a subfolder
called "
imap.gmail.com". This contains your Google mail folders.
Hope that helps,
Paul.
