Customizing the timeline

Hi, 

I am using the timeline to show the historical process of buildings of a university. For that, I am using the direct link of timeline: http://api.simile-widgets.org/timeline/2.3.1/timeline-api.js 

The problem I have is that for each event, when I click on it, in the bubble it shows a detailed date in gray color, which contains the day, month, year, time, and time zone.Since I don't know which day or which month the building was built; is there a parameter that i could set, so that it only shows the year, or not show any date in the description?

I also downloaded the package and tried to go through the code and make changes, but I faced another problem  as soon as I reference the timeline-api.js file locally, the bubbles don't show the borders for the text. Since the borders are images, I tried to find where is the reference in the code to the images folder, but I couldn't find it! :(

Can anyone help me with this?

If you don't want to get into programming, you can take a look at
exhibit (http://simile-widgets.org/exhibit), which wraps timeline and
allows you to configure the displayed bubble in various ways.
