For Simian 2.0.3 I am getting a blank screen when I try to upload a dmg.  Nothing in the logs but one of the browsers gave me a 503 error.

Tom,

Is this still happening? Have you tried other DMGs? Other browsers?
I'm also curious, what is the size of your DMG? Our admins have seen
upload problems in the past for intermittent, short periods of time
when attempting to upload (only) 1GB+ packages.

Justin,

I tried several browsers before I reported the problem.  The size of the DMG is 22KB.  Others have told me they had a problem with a DMG of size 1.07GB but that they also succeeded in uploading other DMGs.

OK.

Is this still reproducible, repeatedly, with the 22KB DMG?

If so, are *you* able to upload other DMGs successfully immediately
before/after a failure with the 22KB DMG?

I'm curious if the problem you're seeing currently is limited to this
specific DMG or not.

My experience - I am using the same instance as Tom - Simian 2.0.3:

I have been able to upload the 22KB DMG after Tom was unable to. The
problem is intermittent and is not limited to that DMG. I have tried
to upload other DMGs and sometimes I will get a blank screen or
"packageinfo not found".

With Simian 2.0, I have had problems with large DMGs -e.g. MS Office
~1.07GB, as mentioned below.

Thanks,
Antony

I am also experiencing a problem uploading a 1.19GB Adobe Photoshop dmg using different browsers and over multiple days.

Shane,

Please check your proxies.  We've seen issues in that past with uploading large DMGs, and it turned out to be our corp proxy causing issues.  Using our guest wireless or disabling the proxy solved the problem for us.

No proxy problems... I was exceeding the incoming bandwidth on my AppEngine instance since I was on the free version. I enabled billing, but the upload still isn't happening. No progress, no errors, just nothing... I tried an upload before I left for the evening and it was still hanging when I came in this morning.

I did just receive an error:

Service Unavailable

Nothing in the logs though...

Ah, the freebie quota issue makes sense.  So you've enabled billing, which should eliminate the quota issue, and a similar problem is exhibited, however quota dashboards seem OK?   "Service Unavailable" is what you see on the browser?

Yes, "Service Unavailable" twice now...

I'm not able to reproduce this, so it's unclear what the issue is. Questions:

- are you able to upload other, smaller packages?
- have you tried using a different browser (Firefox vs Chrome)?
- have you tried using a different network connection (home vs work)?
- can you enable debug level logs on your browser and see if there is
any additional detail (Firebug, Chrome Dev Console, etc.)?

When I arrived at work this morning, the package was finally uploaded! I suppose I just need to keep trying until it works. Perhaps there was some lingering issues with being on a free account?

Even though it eventually worked, here are the answers:

I have been able to upload smaller packages
I have tried Chrome, Firefox and Safari
Only at work
No debugging

I appreciate the assistance, looks like I am good now...
